Yes it would cause you issues and if that one is split then the one it attaches to that goes down to the crank breather WILL be in need of replacement as well. You may also need to replace the small pipe that goes from the crank breather to under the manifold.

It's all the crank breather system, plastic bend comes out of the block (that can be brittle and split too, I recently had to change mine) goes into a T piece that has a check valve into a smaller pipe to the manifold and the other pipe goes up to the one that you have showing the split, then that piece goes into the "hockey puck" valve on the TiP

Think your car might of had a replacement DV too, its not got the crappy one use jubilee clips on the pipes it has normal ones.
