ECU...

When I got mine I think someone said that someone on here would do it for about £20 but fortunately it was already done. The only difference I had was that the previous car didn't have cruise control which means I now don't have cruise control until I can get someone to activate with VAGCOM I believe. Although I don't really miss it as I don't really do much motorway driving.

You cannot just swap the ECU, its not straight forward at all. You need VCDS.

 

The engine ECU must be matched using VCDS to the immo chip in the instrument cluster, otherwise the car will go nowhere.
