Catalytic converter

Featured Replies

Hi there.I have just bought a new cat for my '54 plate Octavia 1.9tdi (ASV) which turns out to be a Euro3 cat. The manufacturers (Bosal) tell me it is the wrong one and the correct one is Euro4. Phisically they are the same. Money wise the Euro4 is twice the price. I was under the impression that the ASV engine was Euro2 or 3 so is it really worth the money to put a Euro4 cat on it? Any ideas would be gratefully received.

Just go to eurocarparts.com & put your reg in & look in exhaust parts the correct cat should come up.

Type approved cats are required from 2001. Just be warned of cheap cats, we've had a few at work where they haven't been good enough for an MOT when brand new. Most cheap cats will also fail within a year, so make sure you get an MOT before the year warranty has expired on it.
