Featured Replies

As my car is a company car the company has ordered it without the armrest...!! this is doesnt help when on a long distant drive, so Im looking for a close fit decent after market one as Skoda qoute nearly £500 for one to be fitted... lol in 2014 it should be a blinking standard feature. Hi Loz1, this is my first post following collection of my vehicle last week.

Have you found a solution to the above problem?

Loz, not much aftermarket bits yet available for the O3 probably due to delays coming outta the factory and the newness of the car.

Don't give up though, I'm sure you'll find one

It is also a storage box so will need a new centre consol. Im not sure if it is also air conditioned and if so that will add to the extra cost from the dealer.

The Mk3 box isn't air conditioned any more.

I've just been looking at after market armrests, has anyone got any views and possible fitting problems with this? http://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/331266895931

Hmmm... not sure if it looks good or looks cr@p. Darn sight cheaper than ripping out the basic console and installing the armrest version though.

There must be the odd O3 made it into a breakers yard by now as an insurance write off???

Looked again at the website and when you put in details - 1.4 TSI SE, it says it won't fit that car - possible because it's thinking about MY14 models, which have the armrest fitted as standard, unlike the MY13?

Shame you couldn't have waited a bit as the Armrest is now standard on the SE.

I'd say if you can't get it done I'M don't do it at all as whatever goes in there will always be substandard and just look a little wrong/out of place.

Waiting wouldn't have worked, I bought used  .

Anyway, I went for this, "Armster 2", which is a good colour/texture match, the flash photos exaggerate the slight colour differences - it's also equal or better quality materials than the Skoda plastics inside the car. From DCP in Durham. (No connection.)

OK, there are self-tappers just visible where i've tilted the seatback, but in use it looks fine. And I'm a really fussy barsteward. Don't need it any bigger either. The cushioned top part of the lid also slides forward an inch or two.

I also got two of these from Hong Kong via Amazon - one each side. About ten quid the pair. Needed a bit more sticky tape, but excellent VFM

Does the semester impede using the seat belt at all? Or make it harder to use the handbrake?

Armster not semester! Predictive text!

Ha. Just about to query that! No, it doesn't cause any problems. Probably less interference than factory fit, because it's slightly slimmer and shorter. If still available, it's a good buy. Minutes to fit, and near perfect colour match for the dark interior.

PS - I see you've got a Mk 2 Octavia - my comments relate to the Mk 3, as per the thread.

I'm just changing to the Mk 3 estate, hoping to collect it next week! Thank you for the reply.

See armster.co.uk, £84.95 plus delivery.

Yes, I think I'll go for it. I'll miss an armrest and hidden storage otherwise.
