Front Grille

Featured Replies

When i spoke to the dealer they told me the bumper only comes unpainted you need to get it painted if you buy it from the parts desk at the dealership

Yes that's true, bumpers for spares are supplied primer only to reduce the stock they need to carry. I work in the automotive paint industry, we supply a well know 4x4 manufacturer, parts for the line are finished ready to fit, parts for spares are primer only.

Excellent news.  Pleased for you baz.

Am I the only person who thinks skoda should win a stupid design award for integrating a grill with a bumper though? I still can't get on with mine to be honest, each time I wash it I think of how cheap and brittle it seems.

You're not alone there.  I can imagine the meeting when they spent hours deciding it was €0.10 per car cheaper to do it that way than bolting it in place.

Trouble is its pretty common these days

Got to agree Smeghead and Neil. All of these daft designs must surely result in higher insurance costs.... madness.

But, Neil, you're right, it's common madness. What next? Fitting panels in two? You need a front wing? Oh yes, of course, we need to change the door too.

I was just saying this to a colleague the other day, once insurance companies realise what these things cost to repair i.e. £937 for a front grille as you have to replace the bumper too which then needs painting our premiums will only increase.

In 29 years of driving a car,  this is the first time I smashed a grille by hitting something...!!
