First time trying Sonax BSD ...mmMMMMMM.!

Featured Replies

This was covered previously.

I spray BSD on a damp microfibre and wipe down the alloys. Removes any water marks and produces a good seal against brake dust.

.... Next time you wash the car, your alloys will jet wash clean very easily.

This was covered previously.  In that case, so sorry to have bothered you.

I just spray on Mike...... being careful not to spray the brakes..equally..its fine to spray on a cloth and wipe

I would only use over another sealer..but thats my choice

Not a problem Mike. Just recall someone asking the same question.

Btw.... If you have gone round the whole car with BSD; you may well find enough residue on the microfibre to wipe over the alloys for example.

On ebay now...   well spotted.

The 5L BSD deal mentioned previously at £39.95 is well worth the investment guys.

Just incase you had not done the numbers...

Works out at £6 per 750 ml refill; instead of the £12.95 mentioned above

Just got the hybrid NPT sealant and some BSD should be a winning combination!

Well - given the crap weather this weekend; boredom really kicked in after the F1 today.

Decided to venture out to the garage and tidy up the detailing shelves a bit.

Refilled my Megs APC, Last Touch, CarPro PERL mix, Iron-X and BSD bottles from bulk 5L tubs.

Now well stocked on G3 mitts and also managed to get some red wax applicators which are AG-HD like;

they are a nice dense quality foam and i'm looking forward to using them with some Illusion or Definitive wax shortly.

That's me now 2L into the first 5L Sonax BSD bottle i purchased from CYC. Another 5L tub untouched.

Not used that much of it on our cars at home really.... but given away a couple of 300ml samples.

Anyway - hoping for better weather tomorrow to get detailing.....

Nice set up there! Very jealous!

Appreciate the comment - the culmination of 6 years serious detailing.

It all started when i got my MK2 Octavia VRS brand new -back on 2008.... it had to be kept clean!

LOL it's just as hard to keep all those bottles clean and in order. But there a few ££££ in that lot ...fair play to ya mate.!

Thanks for the comment mate! Once or twice a year the shelves get a good clean and re-org!

The other cupboard indoors has all the polishes, glazes, waxes, DA, rotary and pads etc. it's all good fun - really enjoy my detailing days.

I find the Sonax BSD a little tricky to apply as it's quite thick and "gripy". Putting it on top of 2v3, which is very easy to apply and leaves the car feeling very slick. The BSD is possibly a superfluous step for me.

Yeh mate i like those clear stackable boxes with lids for storing my detailing gear in the garage. Something like these...http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/5-x-Clear-plastic-storage-boxes-with-lids-32-litre-ideal-for-underbed-storage-/131188761534?pt=UK_Storage&hash=item1e8b75a3be

Yes - 100% agree - these are perfect for storing detailing stuff.

I have a couple too..... one with waxes and one with towels and microfibres.

....makes it easy to transport stuff easily if you go to a detailing meet etc.

Try to apply BSD with a slightly damp Mf cloth, IMO it works a bit better.
