First time trying Sonax BSD ...mmMMMMMM.!

Featured Replies

Try to apply BSD with a slightly damp Mf cloth, IMO it works a bit better.

Completely agree - damp MF works well; but i have no experience with 2v3 as per post above.

I have to say, beading and protection seem very good from BSD ... but like others, I miss the slickness of touch, and don't think the depth of shine is as good as it could be.

To that end, I will try some Chemical Guys Hybrid V7 QD next time around ... I need a new wash mitt and some wheel cleaner anyways so CYC will be getting another order in a couple of weeks :)

Just a slight warning re: CG V7....It destroyed my Wax LSP...so make sure its applied over a Sealer

A few people on DW mixing V7 and BSD 50:50 to good affect.

Gonna trial some with FK #425

Thanks for this

Very interesting indeed

Would that depend on the Wax ? I actually chose V7 as I am very pleased with the Pete's 53 and thought it would compliment it.

What other QD would be your choice ?

Interesting, I have about one applications worth of BSD left, might try a mix :)

My alternative QD to V7 is Bilt Hamber QD...works well with a wax and a sealer.......lovely to use and gives a nice slick feel and sharp reflections

But..it offers no durability compared to Sonax...Depends what you want from a QD really

Edited by ChrisRs

Perhaps I'll try the Bilt Hamber mixed with BSD

Where is a good place to get it online ?

Bilt Hamber themselves or Ultimate Finish

Thanks ChrisRs :)

I will also add, I used BSD on the wheels as you advised somewere on this forum, and it works a treat for easy cleaning.

Busy weekend detailing..... the house.... not the car for a change.  :giggle:

House went on the market this week and looking for a bigger family place; but thought to let you have a laugh.....

the outside uPVC doors & window frames were all APC'd then Sonax BSD applied. Dinski caught me just finishing these off yesterday!

Plus the garage doors were sorted.... all the green algae/moss, bird **** and various deposits cleaned off and Sonax BSD applied too.

OCD..... moi?  ;)

Those doors looked very neglected Steve ...not like you at all :giggle:

You need to go on DGDW :giggle:

Witnessed and what a difference :D

Back door glass tested with Gtechniq - i confess  :giggle:

Could have added Glaco to the test if Carl had remembered!

Sorry about the double post.

Was that a double post for the benefit of the double garage?!? Thanks Carl!  ;)

I did the downstairs house windows with BSD after finishing on the car when I first got BSD. Cleaned them again a week ago and there was much less dust/muck on them, and definitely easier to clean. Nice beading still too. I probably ought to do them more often, but for some reason they bother me much less than a dirty car...
