New Yeti order!

Featured Replies

So mums decided that the Yeti is the next car for her! She likes the higher seating position and the chunkyness of the Yeti.

She's not fussed what she gets so long as it's black! But I know that it'll be me that has to wash it and help her fund for the car too... so I think I'm allowed to have a say in what will be better, she lives on farm land and has and she's always driving through muddy lanes. You can see why black might be a bad idea!

I treated the Superb to Autoglym super resin polish, and extra gloss protection it's done pretty well with repelling dirt and mud splashes.

Now it's the choice between a 1.2 tsi DSG SE/ Elegance I'm thinking elegance because the heated seats will be good for her back and the LED dlr lights look better!

So the proposal to mum would be Black Magic and Gobi Sand leather and Matterhorn alloys.

Does anyone have a photo of theirs in this combo so I can show my mum?

If I had the choice I'd want a Jungle Green yeti/ Bronze/ Muscavado/ Moon White/ Petrol blue...but she wants BLACK!

We've got a test drive tomorrow at 9am, so we will know what the lead times will be and what's available!

If she has to have the 'stealth' look black would be perfectly invisible or for weddings/funerals etc.

Personally the best white car on the road is the Yeti, which would be my nonmetallic colour of choice.

If it was my mum I'd tell her she has to wash it.

I just think black is completely impractical and itll bug me more than her that black needs a lot of care, I think white looks good too.

Maybe rosso would be nice?

I'm not sure the gobi interior is a good idea for someone who lives on a farm.

That's going to be a challenge to keep clean!

Itll blend in the mud better than the black for sure??!

Paid the deposit today. She's getting a black one, and there wasn't anything we could do to persuade her to get another colour!

Yeti Outdoor, 1.2 DSG, Gobi Sand interior, Black Magic, with Origami alloys.

We expect delivery of the car in mid July. :)

Hi Leon, A lot of black cars of all makes and models have appeared on the roads here in good old Western Australia, however, I prefer lighter colours such as, white or silver. With our hot summers tinted windows are a must, to help keep out some of the heat, which makes me think that the owners of black cars must have to run their air-cons full time. No matter what the colour I do hope your mum thoroughly enjoys her new ride.

I guess one bonus for her is that she likes being warm.... So she will appreciate that factor! I think.that Gobi sand leather will look great against the black though.

Ok, so let me get this right:-

Live on farmland, & drives on lots of muddy land.

Black car - Light colour interior - no 4wd - I would get it in writing

1-  SWMBO will wash it & not complain about the colour showing the dirt.

2 - Will not complain about the interior colour showing the dirt.

3 - Will not complain about getting stuck in mud during our very wet weather.

4 - ANY moan about the car & it will be sold as being completely unsuitable.

I thought it was Leon-y-k's Mum's car

To defend the OP slightly;

Living on a farm does not necessarily mean that the owner is going to be driving on muddy farmland, only that the roads or tracks to it are going to be muddy. I would agree that a black car and a light interior may not be the best choice, but I know of plenty of farmer's wives who don't drive "proper" 4x4's and still cope perfectly well with their "Mum's taxi".

Don't have any issues with Mums Taxi etc

My main point is that when the ' practicalities' or ' impracticalites' ( if there is such a word) of the colour combination chosen & light the bulb of realisation cones on, to quote the OP " But I know that it'll be me that has to wash it " & the ear bending will start, around - why didn't you point this out before we bought it. :wall:

As we men all know here you cannot win any argument with ANY SWMBO  :x unless you have it in writing.    :giggle:  :D

Having it in writing helps , You can still get it in the ear,  it's in the small print last paragraph  :giggle:

Ahh its gravel tracks mainly! Not for proper farm use though as its 2wd. Its fine, that Gobi interior will certainly hide the light shades of better inside than the black.

I am normally the one who looks after the car for the parents when it comes to cleaning anyway! Im sure itll be fine... *sigh* she's always wanted black, and has never had a black car. So this was her chance. Itll be an improvement over her roomster for sure!

It does get incredibly muddy when the tractors have been out and about. But Yeti's do look good muddy too!
