FL interior lights (with panoramic sunroof)

Featured Replies

Looking to upgrade the interior lights on the Yeti (when it arrives) and it seems silly not to take advantage of Superskoda’s 20% off sale (28th - 30th March) so can a FL owner confirm if these are the correct light units fitted,

FWIW the car on order is an L&K (so has the panoramic sunroof)

I have the panoramic sunroof in mine. That front unit doesn't resemble mine. The switches are completely different.

The rear cabin lights are correct - I've had them in TIBET II and III. Very difficult to tell them apart from the OEM ones. Careful as you remove them (screwdriver to flick the clip) to avoid bending the surround crimped into the headlining. I've had to tweak the shape of the retaining clip to mirror the OEM one to get them to clip in neatly.

I did buy Superskoda front LEDs but haven't been brave enough to try and dismantle the overhead panel to get to them....

A pic from TIBET I but it hasn't changed:

Cheers lads, any chance of a photo of the front light?  :giggle:

aerofurb, are the rear lights worth the money in your opinion?

Picture of fronts attached to previous post.

Rear lights are nothing short of superb and to be quite honest, illuminate the front of the cabin so well, you don't need front LEDs. All cabin lights come on when doors are opening/closing and front lights aren't too bad on their own so I'm coping without snapping off plastic clips in the overhead panel!

Thanks (photo didn’t appear when I posted)

It wasn't there when you posted, I suddenly remembered I still had the one from a TIBET I post...!

They're the ones I have - yet to fit.

I also have the LED 'door open' warning lights (red, lower inside corner) and boot light from Superskoda. Look and fit as per OEM and very good, boot light I consider a must!

Thats all I have in the Superb, but I thought they would look a bit pants if the rear ones were fitted  :giggle:

You can't see the bulbs once they are inside the light.

I know that Graham, I meant their performance would not be as bright as the rears.

The ones I got are VERY bright!!

Slightly off at a tangent here - if you have the panoramic roof you don't get the ambient lights for the centre console.

I have yet to figure out why that is....

Has anyone retro fitted them? Had them in my last 2 cars & really missing them in the Yeti - can't see my coffee cup in the dark!

Really!!

I have retro fitted them in the TT, so will be doing them again in the Yeti.

Actually looking back at aerofurb’s photo you do get them - they are the two round ‘holes’ at the front (middle) of the light unit:

One less mod that needs to be done!

Do the rear doors have ‘door open’ warning lights fitted the same as the front?

The cats eye lights are there, but with the sunroof the control panel is mounted further forward meaning the lights are very close to rear view mirror, and are disabled to prevent reflections I think. I miss them too, my previous non sunroof Yeti had them.

Yes the holes are there on mine but no light is emitted. I have read they are not included on Sunroof models.

1 think it was short sighted of Skoda not to fit led  interior lights in the FL Yeti

Other manufactures of FL models are starting to fit them as standard

Hi all,  I've got the 2 small hole (cats eye) lights with the panoramic roof fitted.

They do only work with the side or head lights on.

I thought all Yeti's had them.

I've had three Yetis with pano roofs and none have had the Cat's Eyes working - I can assure you all they would do is have one illuminating the top of the mirror and the other pretty much into it. Obviously the panel is used elsewhere in the VAG range mounted further aft from the mirror. Thingy, have you got a picture of yours working - I'm intrigued!

No 'door open warning' warning lights in the rear doors, only in the fronts.

Re the LED lights as standard - that'll be a way off given even the 'all new' Octy III doesn't get them as standard (at least not in a friend's new vRS). Do other VAG cars have them?

Hi aerofurb,

Help. I've tried to add pictures/photos but no can do. I'm lost.

I've tried to add pictures by copy etc. but did not work.

Any hints/help please?

I tend to use Photobucket - Setup a folder - Download pics then link to the folder in Photobucket making sure permissions are set to public, this allow you to display more & not mess your download allocation to Brisky.

I also have a panoramic roof in my Yeti and also have the cat's eyes. I remember them shining down around the area of the gear lever and the little cubbyhole in front of it, but not sure under what conditions (ambient light, headlight configuration etc) this happens. I will check it out over the next couple of days and try to snap a few pics as well.
