Greenline V

Featured Replies

Couple of quick questions:

Whats the difference between the 1.6 TDi Greenline and 1.6 TDi non Greenline engine, is the consumption and tax the same?

My sister needs to transport 3 dogs (Springer Spaniels and Collies - so not large dogs) anyone own an estate with multiple dogs? is the Octavia estate going to be big enough?

We regularly had the missus collie cross and her mum's Labrador in my mkII, I think 4 dogs of that size would be pushing it in terms on comfort alone, but anything smaller would probably be ok.

Oops I forgot that she is down to 3 dogs now

Can anyone confirm the difference between the engines?

We can get three greyhounds in the back of our Octy estate comfortably, so collies and spaniels should fit with no problems at all.

With regards to the engines, I think the only difference is the greenline gets start/stop whereas the non-greenline models don't.

Not a huge difference between the 1.6 TDI GreenLine and non-GreenLine 1.6 TDI, but the GreenLine II is quite a bit different see this comparison:

Greenline engines tend to be a little bit more fuel efficient. However I don't think that you will be able to see any major difference in tax.

Is your sister going to transport them occasionally? I personally have a dog guard for this purpose from Travall www.travall.co.uk/dog-guards-t363 they are quite good actually, she can get it for like £95. However, I don't think there is any point in buying a dog guard if it's a one-off event.  I have a Skoda Octavia as well, it will definitely fit 3 middle-sized dogs in the boot.

Cheers Mike,

The dogs will be transported just about every day, they have always had purpose built cages but she is going through a divorce so it may be a good quality dog guard this time?

The Greenline II is slightly quicker to 60mph as has slightly different gear ratios to the standard TDI.  Boot is plenty big enough  but has a high lip so if using cages make sure that the doors will open.
