hi all. iam hoping someone could shed some light on my problem. I have recently had an mot on my vrs and I have owned the car for less than a year so it was the first mot I have took it for under my ownership. it failed on the headlamp beams reflecting the wrong way ( like a left hand drive car would have) its a bit weird though as I cant see any noticeable difference compared to other Octavia headlamps for sale on ebay etc. i.e the reflectors are all pointing the same way on visual inspection. any help or anyone else come across this that could help me please.

Stupid question... are they just in need of focusing?

I was thinking this also, mine failed on headlight alignment. Might be the same issue?

hi all. well the guy said he physically couldn't get the beams to bend that far. is it possible that the bulbs maybe positioned differently i.e 45 degree or something. but the only way I can see this to be true is that the reflector positioning i.e longside of reflecter and short side of reflecter to be opposite therefore altering the way t??he beam is bent.??

Sure that the bulbs are sitting properly? I've managed to put them in wrong and at an angle before.

Good call... if somebody bought new lamps off ebay... mightnt have noticed they were LHD.

or got them off an import at a scrappy?

I managed to put BOTH dip beam bulbs into swmbo's 206 upside down when i got Osram NBs for it last year...

took 2 weeks to figure out why the beam was aimed waaay too high Me = donkey

it is possible that someone may have swapped them as I bought it as spares or repairs originally and they may have used parts off it for a doner or something. p.s upside down bulbs love it sounds like something I would do with a major hangover. :-)

My excuse is simple - stupid french car takes its bulds the opposite way up to every other car ive ever owned / driven / changed a bulb in...

 

and the bulbs could fit both ways around!! which was a bit stupid really..
