Well, I suppose it had to come to an end one day

After eight years the time has come

The Octy is going to it's final resting place tomorrow.

It's certainly been a rollercoaster ride of highs and lows lol.

I've learn't more about cars with this than any other, for all it's faults mostly niggles, it's never failed to get me home which is quite a feat really.

It's served me well as the type of mileage I do usually kills a car in five years, it's done 170k , 140k of these with me and my posse.

I've driven it hard and it's taken the abuse well, only major problem being the diff popping but thats nothing new on these, and even then with a little help from briskoda I was only off the road for two days and £300 lighter.

The replacement is here and going well, the clue is in the avatar to the left, and I'll post some pics when I get a chance to take some decent ones.

I'm sat looking at the octy which for the first time ever is parked in the street, it looks at little unloved out there, I still can't quite believe it's going. I've become quite attached to it over the years.

But in all honesty it's knucking fackered. So it's time to move on.

It was probably caused by the nut behind the steering wheel, quite common for the occupants to rattle around from side to side when going along.

I carry a fair bit of bulk so I didn't bounce much, well the moobs did a little I guess

I thought it would have been hugs and jugs mainly in your car Dave. It certainly was when I owned a fabia. Proper babe magnet that thing was.

Well, you did say you were going to do this mate.

I do hope you got what you said you were tempted by! Nice choice

Expect a text from me ;-)

Am... am I seeing that car badge correctly?

Burn the heretic!

mmmm.... and a braking distance from 70 to 0 of 8.3ft .... thus improving fuel efficiency by sitting in everyone elses back seat slip stream :D

Oh wait thats our "paper size" cousins in the last few years, so your alright buddy ;)

can we expect to see it back here under a new owner? or will there be many new owners of various bits?

It will proliferated amongst the forum via its new owner.

In other words ..... scrapped

Another defector from vag to bmw.

Could be another soon... Either the two or four wheeled kind. ;)

I went the other way lol...

From owning 3 e30' s for years to the vRS as a daily. I will def own another e30 again one day when circumstances allow it :-)

Funnily enough I too went from a Skoda to a BMW. Perhaps the Beemer is the only car Skoda owners think is a worthy successor? It's not that bad a compliment really :)

End of an era :)

Good luck with Munich

End of an era! See you later! ;)

You can't burn me ....I own the road now

Funnily enough I've gone exactly the same route as you did, your write ups being a major influence way back then, always stuck in my head until the time was right !!
