So problem found but throttle control valve, really?

Featured Replies

Hi guys

Some of you will have recently seen my post about my car having some strange things happen. The end result was a throttle control valve but for a car on 23,000 miles in pretty surprised that this would let go so early on. I'm still awaiting the reast of the diagnosis as the fault for the 22 issues, all light related faults that appeared doesn't seem to have been picked up and registered by the car.

Has anyone else had this problem and if not, for those that know more than I, does this sound strange to you?

What age is the car? Quite a common fault on early cars, usually the engine shuts down..

It's a 58 plate but with such low mileage should that be the case?

I had a 2007 mk 1 superb with 40,000 miles at the time of replacement. . Are you taking about the accelerator control value ( fly by wire ) if yes I had one replaced. Common problem apparently and was replaced with an updated unit. Not all problems are miles related i think often age gets the better of them. I am beginning to know how that feels :giggle:
