WANTED - mk2 Skoda Fabia vRS 1.4 tsi

Featured Replies

Hey guys I'm on the lookout for a well looked after Skoda Fabia vRS 1.4tsi

I have recently sold my car and funds are ready!

Ideally

2010-2014

Green with a black roof would be nice but would consider other colours

FSH

<40,000 mileage

A decent spec would be an advantage

My budget is £7000-£8500 depending on the car mileage and spec..

As I said I sold my golf r32 a few weeks back for a cheaper car and deposit on a house so the funds are ready.

Good luck in getting a 2014 one for £8500.

Welcome to the forum, good luck with the search, smart move looking on here, rather have a members car from on here known not to have issues than any amount of warranty.

Welcome to the forum.

Fubytom traded in a good vRS Hatch in white.

That dealer might be getting desperate to sell it if not gone already.

There is a thread about his change of car,

maybe someone can point you towards the dealer that has it.

Be sure to buy a vRS with at least a 12 month Warranty,

& if it is out of Warranty buy a 2 year extended one.

That if you are leaving standard and not Remapping,

if you are, then do not bother paying for a Warranty,

just take the gamble with you cash.

george

Sorry, no sale ;).

Good luck though, as Sparkly says, you're looking in the right place.

Yep mine was a good 'un! Only warranty work was 4 new wheels. No significant oil use only topped up 3 times in 3 years.

Dealer still has it - Carrs Skoda Indian Queens, Cornwall:

http://m.helstongarages.co.uk/usedCars/show/id/st1785935

They paid me £8500 for it and it's up for £9991 so if they get desperate I suspect they will let it go for about £9k or maybe abit less.

Very nice - that's a great buy for somebody.

It is worth contacting Skoda UK customer services and asking about any warranty work done on ANY that you look at.

Mine is green with black roof but the black roof is vinyl wrap. Best colour though ;)

A no-no if you happen to live in Glasgow :p - a neutral red is a safer option.

No blue either then?

How about blue with a red roof? Tonka toy look.

Blue with a red roof would go down a storm in Bridgeton! Perhaps not so well in Royston...

I'm viewing a vRS this morning actually however it has 3 previous owners on a 10 plate at 28,000 miles... This puts me of a bit. Should I suspect problems with the car ?

You call Skoda UK Customer Services and ask them the Warranty & Service history on the car.

If it was an Ex Demonstrator, thats the 1st Registered Keeper. For 3 months/3,000 miles.

2 since is not unusual or a worry really.

How many previous keepers means nothing if the car got a new engine and gearbox 1,000 miles ago,

and has a Service History.

Or has never used too much oil, and is a good one.

Maybe the engine was rebuilt by Skoda before it had been to 6,000 miles.

That would not put me off.

Buy on Condition in front of you.

Look for a good engine, & condition of everything else.

Brake Discs, Pads, the things that might already be changed and save you that extra few ££'s.

Does it have good matched tyres on.

Is there a spare steel wheel in the boot.

A 2010 vRS should have been sorted out by now, and you can get a real bargain.

Look at the Receipts.

CHECK THE PAST WARRANTY WORK, ANYTHING DONE,

Maybe it got NEW WHEELS UNDER WARRANTY IF IT HAS DARK CHROME GIGARO,

were the Skoda Badges replaced under warranty etc.

& the Brake Fluid needs changed at 3 years,

& a service at, 1, 2 & 3 years.

Minor, Major, Minor, Brake Fluid, MOT. New Plugs would be nice.

A new engine with new Oil, Filter & Plugs and a Skoda Warranty would be Lovely for £7,500- £8,000 IMO

<snip>

A service at, 1, 2 & 3 years.

<snip>

I was under the impression that the first service was meant to be at two years or 20,000 miles?

Personally, I would always expect to get my car serviced at least once a year but that seems not to be the case with Skoda and the Fabia.

my VRs is 12 month fixed servicing but im sure some on  here have said they have vaiable

I went to view the car.. Not for me priced at £8290 28,000 miles 3 previous owners 3 stamps 2 Skoda 1 independent and last serviced Dec 13. No tax. Mot runs out July 14.

Scratches all over the front bumper looked like a scrape on the nearside light! Somehow? Alloys curbed slighty and 4 different brand tyres on each wheel lol

Bad example

Also looked like it had rain dripped all down the door cards and engine bay? Not a gd sign

However it had a pretty decent spec climate/cruise control, media pack with Bluetooth and parking sensors

I rang Skoda prior to viewing and they said it's never been in for a manufacturers repair

The search goes on..

take your time to find a good one like furbytom's.... contact the previous owner to ask if it has oil issues or not... we know his is a good one, some are not, or obviously uncared for examples (I would have walked away from the one you described too!)

my old one (green, 50,000 miles) was a good example, when I traded it in, the dealer wanted the car, so I got an awesome deal ;) it was sold within a month from the forecourt!

keep your eye on the for sale section, they do come up.

You could have my Monte.  It looks the same.

If it has to be green, my kids have got paint...already got a black roof.

I'd accept £8500 - just.

There's 6 on trader though - uner £8500, one in Preston (is that near?).

How far are you prepared to travel to source?

Are you viewing Autotrader Nationally?

Do  an "in principal deal" over the internet with photos-paperwork- history- then plump for a visit. Dealer or private?

Should be able to get what you are after.

Best of luck , if you get a "good un" much fun!

A real shame that people treat cars it's way, especially at only 3/4 years old.

That's a good price, bearing in mind someone will have paid about £15 k for that even with the "vat free" discount.

...but sadly it doesn't bode too well for the value of my car !!

Bought my car!!

Rear windows

So; not a van then?
