Long journeys.

No.

Please do not touch the Supercharger.   It is not just Sound Deadening.

Seriously,   do not touch, not for a better noise.

Do the Exhaust, but really leave the Engine well alone unless you happen to be a VW Master Tech.

This is the Early Engine to 125kW, not the 132-136kW

Later Changes, but same Basics,  CAVE engine Max Power at 6,200 rpm

I've done a fair few long journeys in my old vRS (Manchester to Isle of Wight, Manchester to Edinburgh)...   I personally believe the style of it is more suited to the shorter 2 hour drives rather t

  • Just done 1500 miles in six days driving round Scotland, seats extremely comfortable for my wife and I, including 3 1/2 hours without stopping. As for fuel, averaged at 42mpg, that includes motorways

  • The seats are excellent, equally supportive and comfy and oddly, given previous cars I have owned, some of the best I have sat in for keeping me without aches on a long journey. The car itself though

please explain this, im curious what issues i may come across/cause?

its been done on this, golf, seat, polo forum many times. with no issues as far as im aware?

The issue is just, if you want no Warranty on your car, fill your boots.

Engine Failure will cost you over £4000 out of your own pocket.

Maybe best, Just be sure you are happy the car is all correct before voiding the Warranty.

Unless the Garage has Checked your ECU, you do not know if it is already Remapped etc.

The XDS or Steering, brake Assist can already be reset.

So you just stick with the basics until you are sure whats what.

But life is short, and NIKE, 'one Life Live it' etc.

or Doctor Peppers,, 'Whats the worst that can happen'.

Just get an itg. Or have you centre silencer out. Makes a huge difference. Wouldnt want to take any sound deadening out. Especially as george said its not all for sound.

Im not a fan of void warranties and being out of pocket. if thats the case, i guess i'll give it a year, i honestly cant see what damage it could do as long as the plastics are replaced in their correct locations..

Its not always the damage it does... but the damage the dealers could say its done.

Didnt think of that, good call!

I'll stick to my intake (when i finally get around to building it!) and silencer removal then! :)

Can you share that link (to a thread somewhere on this site describing how someone installed sound deadening material in a Fabia vRS). I would be interested

Sadly I haven't been able to find it again, the search posts option hasn't helped - someone else (¿George?) will probably remember it?
