Is a luggage cover really an optional extra on the Superb Estate?

Featured Replies

I know it's only £60 but I can't help but notice that the retractable luggage cover is shown as an optional extra on the Elegance Estate.

Is this really the case? Does a £28k+ estate car really not come with a luggage area cover as standard?

Of course I will buy one, but it does seem like a weird omission.

Isn't that the automatic parcel shelf - retracts when you open the boot? The manual parcel shelf's standard.

As above :) you get the manual retracting one touch cover as standard.

Regarding the manual one (which I have), it seems a bit slow to retract fully from the second position. Anyone have a fix for this?

Cheers,

Rob

I use Autoglym Vinyl & Rubber Care to clean the slot in each side as it contains silicone which acts as a lubricant and makes it slide easily again - but I'm sure anything similar will be just as effective.

Ah now that makes much more sense, thanks.

I think I can cope with retracting it myself tbh. :-)

Thanks Chris ...

^ Will give that a go.  Noticed mine is quicker retracting in the warmer weather too.

How can you tell the difference?

Every time I open my hatch it's open one 'notch'.

Is there a way to make it stay closed?

You have the retractible cover. There is an option in the Maxidot tovturn thay feature off, but regretfully I can't remember which although it is probably in 'settings'
