Hi,

I have Octavia Estate 2010, and last week the airbag warning light started to stay on all the time. Yesterday I noticed that the horn was not working.

So my question is, are these problems likely to be linked? and if so, can anyone point me in the direction of an obvious solution?

the module or slip ring could be at fault, find out who has vcds near to you

My local independent garage has vcds and are going to take a look.

If it is the steering column controller or slip ring, do you know how much the replacement parts are, and how long the job is likely to take?

 

Also just had a thought, the steering wheel height and position adjustment gets a lot of use (i am 6' 2" and my wife is 5' 0") Could this be potential wear and tear? or is that not how it works?

has this car got a squib? the coil ribbon type, usual syptoms for a failed squib or control module.
