go to the dealer or TPS

They're only £50 a pair new online for a pattern wishbone and the bolts are only a few quid from a dealer.

buy genuine wishbone and Ball joint don't touch the pattern part items they are utter garbage

genuine are cheaper as well

or if you have a local TPS you can buy direct off go there

Err... you do understand the ones you link to aren't genuine VAG don't you? They're pattern parts from a known brand (Femi in this case) which is what I suggested :D They do have a decent selection of Meyle kit though and having now fitted the Meyle HD drop links i'd never fit genuine again as it's inferior (both in design and fabrication and warranty at 2 years vs 4), much the same as the HD console bushes they do.

^ Correct answer.

I might have a spare (new) bolt at home, can look this evening if you want.  I also have a spare genuine new wishbone; but you already have a secondhand one that's very likely to be fine to re-use. There's a small risk that the bolt hasn't been supplied with the secondhand console/wishbone because it, and the thread in the console, was damaged during removal. Hope this isn't the case for you, but it is not unknown, as the steel bolt in the alloy console can suffer corrosion issues, especially if the bolt is re-used after removal.

Wino if u don't mind having alook that would be great the thread in the console is good I tyres my bolt out off the other side as I not put that side back together as I just replace the console bush

I had to both console and wish bone as the person before me broke the bolt and left it for someone else to fix (me) seams like I had to do a lot of put rights cause off the old own I must off rebuilt both drivers and passengers side with new and gen skoda parts the wish bone will be having a bush fitted also

You're confusing OE with OEM and OEM Equivalent and Aftermarket and your shift and 1 key appears to be stuck ;)

OE (or Genuine) is VAG branded, the stuff that it leaves the factory with and that TPS or your dealer parts desk will supply to you VAG branded with VAG p/n's and warranty.

OEM are the nominated suppliers of those parts, they are usually the development partners for the parts in question who as well as being tooled up to produce the genuine parts will be permitted as part of the licence they hold to produce the same spec of parts and re-sell them to the trade/distribution network as own brand parts. This is what Febi are in this case according to you.

OEM Equiv. are OEM producers who may not be the OE producer for that specific part eg they may make the OE oil filter for Volvo but may not have been appointed to provide the same filter to Ford who are using the same engine from Volvo, they're a tier one OEM non the less and produce parts to the manufacturers specification eg pattern parts. Bilstein for example could be considered an OEM equiv or even aftermarket supplier when talking about VAG but if you're talking Merc they're OE/OEM.

Aftermarket is where it gets tricky, some aftermarket suppliers eg Power Flex or Meyle make superb products that are indeed a vast improvement on OEM or OE parts, others make junk that you shouldn't touch with a barge pole.

What I suggested was the use of pattern parts, that is parts that are made by a known brand top level OEM to the manufacturers specification, not some far eastern mishmash made out of kit-kat wrappers and string.

Hopefully that explains things :)

I've got a genuine wishbone here, and I can't see anywhere on it any evidence of who might've manufactured it. All I can say for sure is it, and the front bush, were both made in Spain for VAG.

Lots of VAG branding and part number stamping, and stickers, but not much else.

Printed in black on a black background is 6Q0.407.151.E. EB 02/12/0517:13 WWO

Part number, two more letters, date and time of manufacture, then 3 more letters. Dunno if the EB or the WWO give anything away? It's definitely not FB for Febi Bilstein.

SHIFT and 1 key are fine, don't need you to try and teach me to suck eggs

go to TPS and order a complete bottom arm and ball joint and see what packaging and P/N they come in

Oh hang on i've brought 6 this month for cars i work on and they are Febi Bilstein in VAG boxes

which is exactly what i have linked to in my 1st post :giggle:  :hi:  :hi:  :hi:

I'd never try to teach an expert sucker how to suck anything

I'm not sure where you 'brought 6 this month' from but are you sure you bought them from TPS? Also i've got to ask, it's the 7th of the month, we've had a weekend where i'll assume you had at least 1 day off, but you're telling us you needed 6 wishbones in 6 working days? That's unusual to say the least. A quick google suggests that while TRW and Lemforder (read the ZF Group inc Sachs etc) are known VAG OE providers for suspension etc. Febi is not, they appear to outsource some production while doing some themselves and be a re-boxer (the country of origin being the clue), so that would suggest they are in fact a pattern parts supplier at best, which your first post made it quite clear you think are 'utter garbage'.

I can give you a hug if it'll make you feel better?
