Advice Needed

Featured Replies

Hi there i am new to this forum and am looking for some advice.

I have a 2004 Skoda octavia 1.9 TDI which currently produces 90bhp.

i am really looking for more performance and will be getting a remap at some point.

but want to carry out some work before hand, i have done some research into changing the injectors for .216.

just wondering if anyone has done this and if they have received sufficient power gains?

thanks.

assuming that it is ALH engine fitting .216 injectors should give you around 30-40bhp straight away (if the engine is in good shape of course) but with some smoke (should be gone after remap)

I owned Octavia 90bhp ALH for two years and after decat, .216 injectors and PD150 hybrid turbo it turned up with 130bhp on the rollers before remap (so the turbo wasn't making much of a difference yet) after it was mapped it went up to 165bhp/342Nm. And my father is still driving that car with no issues.

Obviously I've fitted single mas flywheel and G60 Sachs clutch as the stock one was giving up already. I also did fit Audi TT strut brace, 288mm brakes (as I had 280mm ones), a lift pump, polybushes and KYB Excel G shocks.

How would i find out if it is an ALH fitting? the engine is hardly run in, it has only got 44k on the clock!!!

How much did you end up paying for the hybrid turbo? seem some go for quite alot of money.

Thats great to hear that i can get plenty more power out of mine

the engine code should be printed in your logbook, on a sticker on timing belt cover and under boot mat above the spare wheel...

Well I sell ALH hybrids (PD170 based ones) for £380 delivered see my ad here:
