Original Key to Flip Key

Featured Replies

I am wanting to change my normal key with central locking to a new 2 button flip key as they look alot nicer.

Has any one got any guides on how to do this and what i need to make this happen?

I think the dimensions for the internal circuitry/ circuit board are different so possibly not swappable.

So your suggesting that i should buy a completly new flip key fob, have it re-cut, and then have it programmed?

I believe thats the way to do it yes...

there is a cuple of threads on how to do the programming too, involving the old and new key, in lock and ignition at the same time.

aquick search shold show up the most recent ones.

Thats brilliant thanks, at a glance the new keys are about £40.

i'm going to be in the West Midlands this afternoon & on Saturday 19th. If you do a search for keys i'm sure plenty of the results will involve me ;)

how much would you charge me then to make me a flip key?

Does your car have a flip key already? Or a normal key with no buttons to lock/unlock?

its has a normal 2 button key for central locking

it would be £80 supplied, cut & programmed plus a share in my travelling costs which will be £10-20 depending on how many other jobs i have in the area on the same trip.

Where abouts are you in the West Midlands? i'm passing through on my way to Bristol on the 19th
