In your general area, Centre Gravity, based in Coventry:

seem to have a good reputation among some MX-5 owners.  However I have not used them myself and they are apparently not cheap - see:

You may note that CG are also used by Porsche owners, who tend to be a group of people who, for some reason, seem to enjoy paying through the nose for everything.

Although I live in Hereford - on the Welsh borders - I go to Wheels-InMotion in Chesham (north-west of London) to have my alignment done, when visiting family in that area.  The Proprietor, Tony bones, is a particularly helpful bloke and WIM have given me good service with my MX-5:

I shall be taking my 4x4 Octavia estate there once I've had its rather tired dampers replaced and its worn suspension re-built.

Hope this helps.

Centre Gravity are down towards Atherstone on the A5...I my bumper sprayed at the place next door...They had some fully pimp cars outside (Ferrari, Porsche etc). From what I've read the wait time is significant as are the costs, but they'll do a really really good job.

Bit off patch, but Nottingham Wheel Alignment. They're in Nottingham and they align wheels very well.

Jeff Fowkes Wheels ltd in Ibstock did an excellent job of mine.

yeah and they certainly ' pimp ' up there prices as well...

good job I was sitting down when they told me how much...

£315+vat ! It takes 4 and a half hours to the job, the price is only slightly cheaper than a full set of boots for a octy vRS...

So nah, we will give that one a miss !

have heard good things about Jeff Fowkes in Ibstock, price not too bad, £29.99 to check then will not be dearer than £89, so I will be taking my vRS there hopefully next week sometime, was hoping to take it tomorrow morning, but he's fully booked up !

I saw an article about Center Gravity. They are at the opposite end of the spectrum to you average backstreet place.

They are meticulous. Everything is checked, by stripping if necessary - all joints and bushes. They then start by corner weighting and moving on from there. When they are finished, it is right. Even down to compensating for your weight or the normal load you carry.

They are really for people with the sort of cars which fully respond to this sort of thing. I think for a while they concentrated on racing and trackday cars, particularly Porsche.

Seems a bit wasted on a vehicle with limited adjustability which is required to cope with a wide range of load/use conditions.

Having said that I would be interested to see just how good they could make an octavia go. Send funds!

God luck at Fowkes, probably best in the week, they were very busy on the Saturday I visited - much more laid back when I came back to have the work done.

I used Paynes Ford on the A5 at Hinckley last year, they have a Hunter rig. They did a really good job and the price was fair as I remember. Im sure i paid somewhere around £90 all in. Car felt transformed afterwards.
