not a competitor, it'll be in a totally different price bracket. HTH :)

But looks the same as all the others!

Chintzy and over styled. Yep, it's a Lexus alright.

Overpriced TAT, nothing more.

Why do companies like BMW, Mercedes Benz, , Jeep, and most if not all top marques think they can successfully trade on their names and still continue to produce SECOND RATE GOODS???   :wall:

Pouclee, Thanks for posting the two photographs of the Lexus SUV, it looks quite nice and will probably do well, but will not compete with the Yeti, because it will be in a different price range. :hi:

I'm guessing £40-60k?

A competitor for the Evogue or new Jaguar SUV perhaps, but not the practical compact Yeti

I don't like the trend for the squashed down windows look at all. Everyone is doing it now. IMO it looks absolutely sh**e. Definitely form over function, but then again I am a mechanical engineer so function always wins with me.

So why don't you drive a Roomster?  :D

I like the Yeti.  I like it a lot.  And as every "squashed" SUV comes along, I like it more.

Lol, you're right, but I'm nearly old and like sitting higher up or I might just have had a Roomster.

Because A) they aren't tat, and B) because they have plenty of customers for them.

They ARE tat, if you want a REAL 4x4 go for a Land Rover Defender, not a fake Lexus

What makes you think that the only possible customers are ones who want "real 4x4s"?

Plenty of people want some of the benefits you get from this type of vehicle - raised driving position and plenty of space - but won't ever need to take it further off road than a muddy field.

That looks nice to my eyes.

Whilst Lexus aren't at the top of the tree for cabin materials from my experience they certainly aren't tat.

No price is yet released for how much these will cost so can't say if they're overpriced either.

It isn't aimed at being a REAL 4x4 so not sure what relevance that point has. No one said it was.

It definitely IS a Lexus though, so not fake.

Otherwise, good points.

Lexus & JD power results speak volumes for the quality of the cars.

GIven the prices of the rest of the Lexus range really cannot see this being direct competition for the Yeti

The Lexus NX is aimed at the BMW X3 and Audi Q5 market segment and not the Yeti. It is slightly larger than the new Rav 4 and will have a electric/ petrol engine or just a petrol engine. Lexus don,t do diesel engine cars anymore, unless for Europe they use the 2Ltr BMW diesel unit ( as seen to be happening with a lot of the Toyota line-up).

Tony

The concept version of this was one of the ugliest cars I've ever seen.

But this production version is growing on me. Bar the silly NIKE swoosh DRLs of course.  The non F-sport version's grille is also far more palatable than the F-sport version's:
