michelins, hankooks or barum?

Featured Replies

Having had a set of four michelins on the car and now needing replacing, do i replace them with the pilot sport 3's, hankook s1 evo 2 which some say is another good tyre and that bit cheaper or the barum bavarius 2 which is cheaper still?

Any experiences?

Looking for a tyre that will perform well but also last.

Thanks.

Michelin all day long

Uniroyal RainSport 3's, around £63 inc vat delivered from Camskill Tyres, get your local tyre monkey to fit them with new valves & balancing for circa £10 each, bargain IMHO

Michelin PS3. Very good tyre and is my weapon of choice. Never tried Hankooks. Barums are cheap for a reason, they're ****.

Here come the Rainsport bandits

Had Michelin Pilot Exalto's on mine until they were replaced with the PS3's - Brilliant tyres!!

Grip in all conditions (except snow off course - I use Pirelli Sotto Zero's in the winter), quiet, good steering connection and surprisingly comfortable.

Also, far better than the OE Continental sportscontact2 that the car originally came with.

Having read reviews on this site i am now swinging towards the rain sport 3's!

Great reviews and a good price!

Liking the tread pattern too!

Got Hankook V12 EVO's on my Fabia, they are quiet, and comfortable, good dry and wet grip as well. They are very well rated on lots of Renault forums as a good (and cheaper) alternative to their OE Michelins.

Heard good things on the Hankook V12 EVO's as well;

but not personally used them as yet.

Going for a pair of Goodyear Eagle Assymetric 2's tomorrow... tyre of the year 2012/3 for many reasons.

I won't use anything else

Hankooks v12 all day.

cheap ish and as said very nice wet or dry and very quiet.

I don't think there is a better tyre than a Michelin..........but at a price.

Yea have had ps2 before antld they were awesome but at 160+ a tyre erm no way.

That was for my octy tho.

I used to have Hankook V12 Evo and they were poor in the wet.  Now got RS3, which I am much happier with.

Michelins are expensive but they're a good tyre and will last ages.

Have you not considered the Vredestein Vorti's...

Replacement tyre for the Sessanta. Great reviews from many online car websites.

I'd say Camskill are your best bet for price :)

I'm sure they are very good, however they don't make them in Fabia vRS size. No 16 inch, and the only 17inch tyre is far too big and wide.

The OP hasn't said what size he wants, but it's probably 205/45 16. Only Sportrac 5's or Ultrac Cento's are available in that size.

Actually I've just ordered Centos today,in on Tuesday so I'll do a mini review. I normally stick with f1 A2's but these are less noisy. Supposedly... And I'm a motorway muncher

Oops, didn't realise they weren't available in 16" size...my bad.
