Stop Start - Power Consumption is High

Featured Replies

Mine has been doing this too Power consumtion is high, I checked my battery status and is just says SOC---%. Car starts and runs fine , will have to take it for a long run and if no omprovement mention it at next service.

well apparently there are various factors which   effect the stop start functionality

 seat   repliedwith the following:

The engine does not switch off before the stopping phase, the system verifies whether certain conditions are met. The engine does not switch off, in the following situations for example:

● The engine has not yet reached the minimum required temperature for
the Start-Stop mode.
● The interior temperature selected for the air conditioner has not yet
been reached.
● The interior temperature is very high/low.
● Defrost function button activated ⇒ page 136.
● The parking aid* is switched on.
● The battery is very low.
● The steering wheel is overly turned or is being turned.
● If there is a danger of misting.
● After engaging reverse gear.
● In case of a very steep gradient.

So basically the  power consumption  high warning isa red herring  and the stop  start system wont work  most of the time

Battery SOC is a parameter for Stop/Start on most cars, but definitely on VAG cars.
