  • Old dual 500W Halogen light stand now fully converted to LED

  • Two of these arrived yesterday..... absolutely great for the money!   No instructions, labels, info, or battery for that matter (AA required); but at £1.62 delivered.... Bargain      Compact enoug

BTW, I should also have said - Costco do a couple of great shelving units - which could be of interest to you.

Very sturdy and high quality - but not sure if the sizes would work in your new garage....

I'm not familiar with the Wick's one or the pricing; but if you let me know - I will gladly check on pricing when at Costco today. [emoji106]

I'm just using the plastic ones and the moment bolted to the wall as I won't be there long with moving and getting a new garage. Only £20. Fairly sturdy too if I'm honest!

Yes Chris, but only been 20 watt I doubt they'll be bright enough. And as I've always said, Buy cheap by twice.

Thanks

I use 400w ones and find them adequate

Are LED bright enough from a few feet away?

I'm not sure...ie I remain to be convinced

Ste has loaned me his 400W lamps already - but they generate excessive heat. I demo'd both 30W and 50W LED units in my garage and they were more than bright enough!

Ok..Thanks

Mine are for external use, so heat is not a concern

Good luck in your search

Thanks Ben - that link is perfect, as it has a couple of outside lights I was looking to upgrade on the house/security side.

You're a star!

Not posted on this topic for a while.... but something i've been working on recently.

Waned to get some lights setup in the garage for winter detailing duties.

Managed to wire up a nice 3 x 10W spotlight rig on my detailing trolley....

Ideal work working on side panels etc.

That's a fantastic Idea!

The main part being a decent light source with products & tools to hand whilst being on wheels is genius! Look forward to putting this to use buddy!

Cheers Karl - well, hoping to get the sports car in the garage over winter and do some serious polishing work.

This little setup should really help....

Another nice detailing light being sold off in Homebase at the moment.

LED strip - 3 modes, battery support and tripod built in too.

Quite nice for working around the car when in the garage.

Sorry - i don't have a link.....

I just popped down to my local homebase after a few guys mentioned it on another forum.

There are 2 versions and also a twin-pack as well.

The brand on the packaging is Eiger.

OK thanks, I've had a look on their website and can't find it. How much were they and where were they in the store

They seem to be on aisle ends for clearance; so depends where the store has placed them i guess.

Homebase Bingley/crossflatts - they are towards the back wall of the store actually.

As i said, 2 or 3 different options.... from £19-odd upwards...

Nice find Ste, what's the output in lumens? Does it have a carrying handle to move positions?

Regards
