Can anyone with a MIB Columbus see if they have this bug or not, and let me know the firmware revision please.

 

Mine is firmware 0202

 

When Navigating, use voice control to turn off Nav announcements - "Navigation Announcements Off"

 

Now turn them back on with voice control - "Navigation Announcements On"

 

What volume are the Nav announcements when they come back on? - mine always default to Volume 10 which is barely audible, they were at 17 before I turned them off and back on again.

 

I have done a factory reset, set the volume to 17 in the Menu - Sound - Volume, and it still does the same.

 

Is it just this particular firmware revision that does this? Does 0292 behave the same? Anyone got a newer firmware than 0292 on their MIB Columbus?

I'm not sure if it's the same problem, but on my parents car the radio volume doesn't mute when we have the GPS announcements. On mine it does mute. Dealer found nothing until now...

 

Anybody else have this issue ?

I don't know if the new Columbus is the same as the older unit in my car but there is a setting in the set up menu that allows you to get the radio to mute and by how much.

Does the newer firmware fix the problem to be able to put a house number in after a postcode ????

Tried it this morning and mine does it as well even though I have the 0292 firmware version installed.

Nope, you had 0292 on yours which is newer than what mine was updated to.

mine is 0292 and volume is reset to 10. forogt all about that ability o the voice system to be honest. usully flick onto setup, nav announcements and do it on screen. voice is alot quicker and easier though. but, announcement voulme is kept when doing using the screen

Yep, dealers going to raise it as a DISS report when I am next in. They are aware it happens on 0292 as well. Looks like we need a firmware to fix this and the stupid postcode/house number issue

Not being funny but the MQB infotainment units are full of bugs....in many respects whilst it wasnt quite so comprehensive the functionality of the Amundsen + I had in my earlier Mk2 was more robust and less convoluted to use.

Map autozoom continuing to operate when turned off continues to pee me off no end.
