VRS badge attachment

Featured Replies

Hi to all,

Could someone post few photos of the front and back side if the grille where the VRS badge us attached?

I am working on my grille and want to get VRS badge, but want to get the genuine one with attachments. So far it seems you can't get it separately because it's part of the grill? So only thing you can replace is the self adhesive badge, but not hole thing?

Or Am I completely wrong here?

Thanks

I don't have pics but there's nothing fixing it on at the back, it's just stuck/glued to the grille slats.

That's what I thought. You can get VRS grille badge on ebay, but it doesn't look same as genuine.

9 quid new from a dealer,  I just bought one and glued it on

Stupid question, but what glue did you use?

Just a plastic araldite one

You don't have to glue it, it comes with double sided tape and is strong enough to hold. Replaced mine few years ago and still on strong.

The ones on eBay are genuine if you have the part number checked.

But as mentioned £9 at dealer anyway.

Can I have a part number for the self adhesive badge please

Just ask for them at the dealer,  they know what it is.  It does need glue,  it has a sticky back that the peel back sticker sticks to a plate,  then the plate glues on to the grill.  That's how the one I got worked anyway.

Any chance of a photo?

Why would you want to put a VRS badge on a non VRS.

I got a new one to replace the old one as the original paint has chipped off. I ragged it off. Sprayed the grill then glued it on with gorillla glue.

Here is a example on ebay

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/GENUINE-SKODA-OCTAVIA-MK1-1U-VRS-GRILLE-BADGE-1U0853679BLAQ-/331000300087?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&fits=Car+Make%3ASkoda%7CCars+Type%3ARS+1.8+T%7CModel%3AOctavia&hash=item4d1127c237

But if you quote part number 1U0853679BLAQ to dealer probably cheaper

Yes i think you are right about the plate, but i just junked that and stick badge straight to grill. There is enough of the plastic grill to touch the sticky backing and hold

took me 10 seconds to find it

I know, I could find this one too, I just wasn't sure if you need something else to attach this to your grill. By something else I mean this:  post-99399-0-23407000-1398518780_thumb.jpg

It is clear for me now, that all I need is self-adhesive badge which can be stick on it's own to grille and can be used with a bit of a glue just for the peace of mind.

What type of gorilla glue have you used? Thanks

So I have finally received my badges today. It still baffles me how to attach the badge to that front grille.

When you look at the photo there is something missing IMO

Help please!

Not vrs badge related but is the newer skoda badges a straight fit? My ones are almost completely blue/silver with no badge on lol.

I tiger sealed my mk3 front badge on as they are plastic welded to front grill

Bingo, this is the exact information I needed.

Now would you be so kind and take picture of the front and rear of the grille where the badge sits. I would really appreciate that.

I t to fit a newer vRS badge for my front grill.. as the old one is just a V/ and the newer one actually say V/rs

I made a custom mesh grill then went from mk1 to mk2 to mk3 badge lol

I think the newer badges are better because to anyone not knowing what they are looking at thinks the mk1 is just a skoda V lol..

Like having a focus RS with a badge just saying S :S
