  • Picked up the RS today.     Obviously I am in the honeymoon period, but I'd like to think I've done a reasonable amount of test drives and owned enough to give me a decent feeling for a car.

  • Had the Fiesta ST back for a couple of days now, since it's turbo kit was installed.     Kit consisted of: Peron V1 Superstock hybrid turbocharger, (spool from 1200rpm, peak torque at 2500rpm a

  • As many will know, the ST-3 was sold at 18 months old with 11,000 miles on the clock.     Fast forward a few months....   I went looking for another. Even with my fleet discount a new ST-3 was mor

Put it on the corner scales today...

Full tank and optional spare wheel.

With or without driver? Because that would be impressively close to 50/50 L/R for with.

Without.

Just noticed they do Toyo 888's in the correct size for a Fiesta ST... :giggle:

Without.

So it's nicely jack-weighted for UK circuts (except Liddon Hill and Rockingham) then!

It's pretty even side to side.

Thinking about it I may have got my right and left mixed up when putting the corner scales down! :D

Fitted a blackvue drive recorder today, took 10 minutes.

Easier than all the Skodas I've done as the interior panel gaps are bigger so easier to run the wire! :D

Still liking it, but getting tempted to set up an external GoPro and see how long I can get this eager little puppy to lift a hind a leg on a corner.

That instantly puts this in mind; part of the Evo triangle route....

My ex wife had the previous gen fiesta 1.6 zetec, which my son has now inherited. Every now and again I drive it, whilst it's probably a long way dynamically from your st-3 is still more fun to drive on a twisty B Road than a stage 1 Octy vrs with an uprated RARB. Power (read fun) is nothing without control. I like it, including its borderline ugly looks; that's part of the appeal for me! It's all about what it's like to drive.

Tried a bigger dealer today and said they don't do test drives of the ST anymore because apparently since it's been on TopGear they have customers coming in, picking a colour and collecting in 3mths. They fully expected me to potentially spend £18k on a car I'd never driven. Even if I got one elsewhere I'd still have to deal with them for servicing and warranty work.

Odd.

I got a test drive no problem.

Another one that is not a fan of the rip off Aston front end, & the centre console created by a 2 yr old having a tantrum.

No problems with the rest of it.

Slightly off topic - will you have the Yeti vRS at the meet next week ?

Odd.

That's what I thought. Told a friend of mine about it who put me in touch with Ford UK who also think it's odd. I'm not time wasting as I'm genuinely interested in the Fiesta ST being a vRS replacement. Want something rawer and more fun.

I have to say Martyn the more time I spend with the ST the more I like it.

While is does have it's negatives in terms of interior looks, front grille and three door practicality the grip and fun are very good, the best factory stock front wheel drive car I've driven for a B road blast.

Mountune kit arrives in eight days...

Forgive me if it's already been posted, but what do you get with a mounting kit?

Have done my first tank of fuel, allowing a little spare as I don't like running cars empty.

Long and short of it is an MPG of 32.5 on the car display and 32.7 in real life.

Considering that's a new engine it's not to bad, I'd expect it to level off around 35-37mpg.

Half commuting and half beans. :)

Decent result that [emoji1]

Thing about the ST is that it's a backroad hero and a lot of stuff would struggle to keep up with it through the twisties, but in a drag it's just another 1.6 turbo front driver.

I'd like to take mine on track because I think it'll punch well above it's weight.

I saw one on track going around brands last year and it looked impressive
