Good, Bad and the plain Ugly.

Featured Replies

Hi.

Ordered the Mrs a GreenTech Elegance in December, took delivery this week.

1st ever Skoda .A few, initial, observations -

Good!

Build quality

Economy -  even at this early stage!

Nippy

Best small car I've been in on the motorway - very stable and can keep up with the flow. That at 3/4 revs & 4 adults too!

Stop/Start - minor caveat

Gearbox. - The new "push down for reverse"  - this was the one thing that we were apprehensive about. Now, no worries!!

Skoda and our Dealer.

Bad

SatNav. typical German over efficiency. Could/should be easier to use.

Stop/Start - No indicator to errr indicate when it's active. Yes I know you can hear/feel it, but an indicator non the less would be useful.

Wheel arch liners - lack of.

Boot light - lack of

Parcel shelf - come on, how much does a piece of string cost and a few plugs?

Main lights - OEM were measured in candle power!  Osram Night Breakers Unlimited now in - Brilliant!

Ugly

Nothing "Ugly" at all. Very impressed.

Stop start is meant to be on all the time and forgotten about until you stop . if you switch it off the switch lights up. If its not active e.g. battery low charge the A symbol with the line across comes on the dash.

Forgot about the A symbol on the dash (its tiny) Cheers JimmyR.

You'll get used to the parcel shelf and after a while you automatically remember to put it down after you've used the boot.

It does hum along well on the motorway doesn't it.

Enjoy your new car !

Im thinking about doing the Boot Lace Mod I saw in someones pics recently ;)

And installing a boot Light.

My only other "niggle" with the Citigo is how much exposed paint work there is on the inside of the doors.

niggle isnt so much the metal, just the potential for a lot of scratches in there....

Clear vinyl wrap should sort that worry out

Don't like the boot lace mod, looks too blue peter for me (sorry)

Id go with proper strings from a polo/fabia or similar

Clear vinyl wrap should sort that worry out

Its being ordered this week ;) the missus was thinking about using a different colour....

Some Hot Pink samples were dotted around the past couple of weeks :|

Thankfully even she thought it looked a bit OTT :D

That I understand, I have it on my Mokka.

If you look at the rev counter, it indicates as to whether the car is in Stop/Start mode or off.

Most stop/starts do.

You will as said get used to the parcel shelf. Boot light is understandable it is a pain not having one. Plenty of magnetic ones available to use and very effective :)

After the umpteenth time you leave the parcel shelf up, you remember it.  At least it doesn't get damaged if you shut the boot with it up..

First time I left the parcel shelf up I found out I could reach out and knock it back into position from the driver's seat!

Ditto leaning over to push out the passenger's wing mirror if I ever push that in!

I've got use to the parcel shelf thing now, it's just annoying not having a switch my side of the car for the passenger window.

And yes I've left the NS mirror turned in, but you've got to lean over to get at the switch for the window :wall:

Yes agree something so simple and it doesn't even illuminate. Tut tut. My Octavia had all this and I miss it.

Same as my missus' Fiat 500 as I recall.

Have to say I agree with everything here. The parcel shelf thing is just funny after a while. Travelling with my dogs in the boot I have it up anyway so I don't mind that it "locks" in position, and at least there's the little notch allowing you to see behind you anyway.

Surprised you didn't mention the passenger leccy window thing. Maybe you're like me and never open the windows under any condition except when using pay on entry ticket machines.

Hi.

Yes, the lack of a switch for the passenger electric window, on the drivers side is slightly annoying,

It's also the 1st car we've had, that you cannot turn the traction control off. Quite useful to be able to do so when setting off in snow/ice etc.

Still, only minor gripes, nothing at all to get too fussed about, and more importantly, she's still loving the car!
