Replacement Symphony for Octavia

Featured Replies

Hello all.

I've been told there is a problem with my Symphony head unit so that the sound comes out all funny when it plays music from the cd changer. So I want to get a replacement that's the same as the existing one. I think what I'm after is a Grundig MS-502. I've found this one on ebay: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=4568909405&sspagename=ADME:L:RTQ:UK:1 and it looks the same as my existing one. Does anyone know if there is any way to be sure? I asked the seller and he could only tell me it was a Symphony.

I know his feedback rating isn't particularly good (95%), but I don't know where else to get one from.

Shipping to the UK is 17 Euros by the way.

Can anyone help?

Thanks in advance :-)

Pull your existing hd unit out and see what is stamped on that.. :)

What is your reason for getting a 'like for like' replacement? Are you selling the car?

Why not get a new hd unit that plays MP3s ...you won't need the autochanger then... and you can put the old unit back in when you sell the car on..?

I think MS-502 is stamped on the existing head unit. But the ebay seller doesn't seem to be able to tell me if he is selling an MS-502. Can I be sure that his is the same model is mine just because they look the same and have the same buttons in the same place?

I don't want to get a new MP3 head unit because I want a want to keep the Skoda branding so it fits in with the car styling better and isn't a security risk (I have to park in public car parks).
