New Car For FUBAR Again(new to me anyway) GOT IT PICs Inside!

Featured Replies

In comparison to say a vag manual box.

I suppose its what your used to. On a bmw you have to be very positive for example. My other half struggles with the box on my bmw

I have to say I like the BMW boxes on the 6 pot engines a lot more than any VAG box I've ever driven.

I guess it's what you like as you say.

  • The reason it feels newer than your actual new Octy is because it's a far better car. It's just frowned upon to say things like that (ie The truth) on this forum. I mean, how can anything possibly

  • Have you been in Octavia 3 forum lately??

  • A diesel vrs ?

I do find it a lot nicer a gear box on this one than I did on my 2 vRS's and one of those was 20K miles 2 year old when I got it 6 speed the other brand new. But that said I liked the gear box in my 406 too :P

FUBAR, you need to update your signature :P

Nope :P

TBH Daz for you, I'd picture more a 535D Msport. Or a 530D Msport remapped well. The SE's handling does put my old vRS to shame though which was a pleasant surprise.

There was an awesome looking 530D Msport in Newry (prob still advertised) it is black has the nice 19" wheels etc. The advert omits it is a Cat C and so does the owner, despite later finding out having HPI checked it and run a mile that others had the same experience on RMS..... Lying toe rag 110% knows and it is not priced cheap by any means! Must look so nice because it was fully resprayed  :giggle:

If looking at the 530D's of my shape 2006 odd is when the 218bhp stock was changed and they became 231.

yeah you are correct Fubar, its an Msport Im after, Im a bit paranoid about 535d as hear a lot of people found them problematic and to be honest, I suspect a mapped 530 is probably enough for me these days.  Theres a nice looking Silver 530 Msport in Randalstown (on paper anyway) but Im having a hard time deciding how to get rid of the VRS without just handing it back. TBH Im still thinking of a cheap econo car for a while too but not sure I can bring myself to it!

My vRS went to Charles Hurst Car Buyer similar set up to webuyanycar but gave me over a grand more. I really couldn't be bothered with advertising and tyre kickers etc etc etc....... They only advertised and sold it on at £1500 more than they gave me, still below the going rate, was the cheapest 2011 diesel vRS with below average miles in UK by a good bit!

The MG was a run around until I found something I was after and I hope I now have. Spent a lot of time and money sorting bits out on her that I won't get back now as I was seriously considering just keeping it :(

Just rediscovered this old thread and am a bit gutted I got this car and then 4 or 5 months odd later saw a bit of a barn find Mk1 Octy, bought it and then sold on the 530d.... WHAT WAS I THINKING? ? ? Should have kept it tbh (I did get nearly 2K more than I bought it for randomly though :D ).......... Might have a look for another one now

Yep, get another 530d  B)

You know it makes sense!

I know mines the older shape one but do it!

Absolutely love my E39 now, drives so well and I like the 6 pot diesel engine as well.

Buy another one!

E39 is the best one, in my humble opinion :)
