Woo! Kiloton!

Featured Replies

Hey everyone,

I made the 100,000 mark today. I had a feeling last week it would roll around as I left work today, and sure enough, it did. Perhaps I should vary my route to work every day... Anyway, fortunately I managed to stop somewhere and take a quick snap.

So who else is in the 6 digit club?

Here's to 200,000 (and hoping the clutch and gearbox last that long...).

J

PS: I can't take any credit really. It's easy to hit 100,000 when you buy a car with 94k miles on it!

nice to see... I hit high miles myself 33K in the furby all in one year

I remember being in a driving school Nova when the odo went round to '0' again :D

Just went past 253,000 in the Jag. :cool: Still burbling along nicely too. :thumbup:

I'm on 91K at the moment... another 3-4 months I reckon will see me pass the ton.

Sorry to nitpick but a kiloton is a thousand tons, a figure that, even with skoda reliability I don't think a car could stretch to!!!

I think most people regard a ton as being 100 in motoring terms as in

Oi Slow down!!! :mad:
What? I was only just over the ton :D
In which case it's a thousand hundreds, or one hundred thousand. Which is what he's done :)

TKW: Indeed. A Ton, as in "A ton plus", or "the magic double ton". I know it's strictly a speed, not a distance, but it seemed more concise than "One-hundred-thousand miles!" and more interesting than "100,000 miles!" (is it me or do the zeros get all fuzzy and jump about the place together...).

No, not even on a weekly shop could I get the car up to 1000 tons (or 907 tonnes :D )

A thought for the day. Given today's ludicrous fuel prices (94p/litre), and an average consumption of 56 mpg (my actual average - the dash display is 10% over), to hit the double-kilo-ton would take:

* 1786 gallons of diesel

* That's about 8117 litres

* Which would cost

So who else is in the 6 digit club?

Here's my shot. Done in a 1.3 Felicia: more of a challenge than a TDI Octy ;-)
