2.0 tfsi timing belt

Featured Replies

I was wondering if any one could help with the correct age/mileage the timing belt should be changed at. I've done searches on here and the diesel seems to have been covered in depth but can't find anything on the petrol. My cars a 57 plate currently on 55,000 miles and had a belt done at 35,000 in 2011. Is it due another one now? Any help I'd greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance Rob.

Expect differing opinions, but I believe it is 60k/4 years whichever is the sooner.

My local dealer told me that its every 4 years or 60,000 miles for my car which is a 2008 TFSI vrs so based on that your fine until 2015 or if your car gets to 95,000 miles before then. Welcome to the forum!

60K miles or 4 years is correct interval

Ant ;)

Did mine at 60k or 4yrs. The belt which came off looked almost new.

If anyone's interested the genuine belt kit I got was made by contitech.

Mine looked fine & showed very little signs of wear (belt was 4 years old & covered around 40,000miles) there was some coolant staining on the water pump though.
