does anyone actually like this look?

Featured Replies

Yep I cant stand the water marks from the screen washer jets. Not to the extent of not using the wipers when needed. Although the rain repellant helps with that too. Cant stand my car being dirty, or this random craze in at the moment. Cant be good for the life of the wheels never mind the tyres! I dont really understand how it works tocbe honest when it comes to the extreme camber. It must be like driving a soap box car!

  • It looks crap and broken.  And the driver will be constantly bleating about how the  Police victimise him as well no doubt.

  • Awwww that Hitler car just looks depressed :(

  • Cars are for driving, not taking pictures of.  All I've seen is photos of where young dumb and full of ---- lads have deliberately handicapped their cars so they look (what they consider to be..) n

Same with people who are crazy about keeping a car clean.

Nothing wrong with that. When you spend your hard earned cash on something then why not look after it. Mine is almost always spotless.

Put it this way. My 1.2 htp fabia se has absolutely no problem keeping up with my mates lowered and cambered civic in the wet. And when i say no problem, i actually thought there was something wrong, it wasnt until we pulled over and he said how it likes to slide around, that i realised haha

so its a way to make your fwd act like a rwd lol. Wonder if it attracts anymore attention from the constabulary.

Basically. Only much less fun haha.

Surprisingly none. not yet anyway.

Funny really, cos thats exactly the same amount of women that hes pulled in it..

Quite an interesting read. Negative camber is probably pretty pointless on the likes of this fiesta though... And will only slow it down more in a straight line.

Camber angle alters the handling qualities of a particular suspension design; in particular, negative camber improves grip when cornering. This is because it places the tire at a better angle to the road, transmitting the forces through the vertical plane of the tire rather than through a shear force across it.

I'm guilty of appreciating the "look" and the scene crap it represents, but the mechanical / safety aspects are always always niggling me in the head!

You tell where these cars have been, you can spot their trails across the middle of roadabouts as they stalk their roadsign prey...

Guilty as charged, My golf and my friends fabia vRS, i personally have gone for a form over function look as I don't drive my golf daily although the fabia has a forged intercooler and a pd150 hybrid turbo along with a map so it does go quite well

Good morning stranger! Yes they are genuine Bentley wheels 20x9 from a Flying Spur

Don't get me wrong, there's absolutely nothing wrong with having a clean car. I meant like crazy as in, the next sentence I said crazy haha.

Guilty!

To much looks crap, just the right amount and it's ok.

This is all natural camber, no washers or alterations. Handlings the same as it was, infact it steers into and out of corners better. Tyre wear hasn't changed tbh as I'm not running crazy amounts of camber.

Camber can look good if it's not too OTT, in my opinion of course. Tyre stretch is one thing I will never understand though

How the hell did you come by them (or should I not ask!!!!).

I imagine the RRP from Bentley would be around £1k a corner(excluding tyre).

Think they would look better with a VW centre cap though - as those in the know should realise what car they are from.

Are you still at Skoda?

Sorry about that. Had to go to the opposition. But never say never..........!

When you are young and daft, these are the fads you just have to do.  I remember my Anglia with 'Carlos Fandango' wheels, Awesome!

I remember putting the Carlos F wheels on my Anglia van. Can't remember exactly (well it was 45 years ago), but something tells me I inverted the stock steel rims to widen the track and give a deep dish/Fandango look to the wheels........or did I imagine it?

We're not all young ;)

I too dont get the ridiculous camber thing.

Round here the 'lads' are fitting external cameras in their grilles , or down by their fogs and there seems to be some kind of cruise stripe system being stuck onto the lower grilles (bit like martial arts, or military).  I assume they get awarded for driving like ****s

When camber becomes too much...

:peek:

Omg what a mongtard

That just looks pants!

I saw this fine example on the motorway a few days ago. Stanced the cheap way. Have to admire the bravery of the driver, given the speed they were coming past in that. It looked a lot worse in reality, all the area above the wheel was mashed in. I kept well away.
