Skoda Used Car Warranty

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I'm just wondering if anyone can confirm something for me....

Is the 12 month Skoda used car waranty done the same way as the original 3 year warranty in that if i buy the used car from a Skoda dealer in London i could then take the car to my local dealership in Sheffield for any warranty issues?

I'm assuming you can do this but just wanted to confirm it.

Also anyone any experience of DSG problems being covered under the Skoda used car warranty?

Cheers

Dave.

The 'Skoda Extended Warranty' Provided/underwritten by 'Car Care Plan' reads in the T&C as pretty much like the Original Manufactures Warranty.

Best see if you can read one of the Policy Booklets.

& Get the full story from the Dealer that is selling the car and the Warranty,

or ask Skoda UK Customer Services.

Yes you should be able to go to any Skoda/ VW dealer,

It is a Mechanical Warranty and Covers Engine, Gearbox & Drivetrain.

There are Exclusions in the Warranty, Private Use, No Motorsport Events etc.

So is the extended warranty the same as the used car warranty?? I'm talking about the 12 month used car warranty that Skoda give you when you buy a used Skoda from one of their dealerships and the car is under 7 years old.

Dave.

You need to ask the person providing it,

you would hope they have an example of the Warranty/Policy Booklet available to look at,

There are people that have problems because of Dealers saying not a Skoda Approved Used Car,

or the Warranty has not been Logged on the Computer etc.

A Mechanical Warranty should be exactly that,

and will probably exclude Wear & Tear items, that might be the Clutch on a Manual, it should not Exclude failure of a DSG Gearbox.

Reading the above, I have no idea whether or not the Skoda Approved warranty is the same as the Skoda Approved Extended Warranty which I recently purchased for my 3 year old Octavia. If is is, then it is Europe-wide and repairs can be carried out by any Skoda dealer.
