Just received my reminder for my car tax which expires at the end of the month.

 

The thing is that i ordered a private reg plate last week and just sent the V750 form the other day (DVLA should have it today). Do i buy the tax now as not sure what would happen with the tax disc as the letter has the old (current at the moment until i recieve my confirmation letter from the DVLA)?

 

I could leave it until i get the new plate which should be sometime in the next 2 weeks but if i tax the car it may not let me as it will be the old reg plate and i won't have a V5 as it seemingly takes 4-6 weeks.

Suggest you phone the DVLA helpline for their advise.

I would say wait until the end of the month.
