Anyone had to change an adaptive module on facelift xenons?

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

So, my drivers side module bracket snapped on back of headlight few months back. I never noticed, hanging in engine bay some how got set and now my headlights just point straight forward, work fine just no cornering. The biggest niggle is a bulb warning light on all the time.

I need a new adaptive module! I thought I had got clever buying a second hand Superb xenon headlight of eBay as it has the same adaptive module attached ( same part number) so 20min ago I fitted it.. Started car turned on headlight.. Drivers wide light pointed outwards as far as would go and wouldn't come back! Bricked myself! I mean, least I could use them before! Also noted, bulb warning light still on!

Anyway, after a bit of stressing, had the idea to try passenger side module on drivers side.. This reset the light straight! Feeewwww!!

So, all is back as it was before and I have this new spare part... Do you think its dodgy? Or perhaps I just need vds reset?

Thanks for any advise!

(Ps typed this on iPhone so hope spelling all right)

Should have said module got wet! Not set!

There is probably an error logged which would need clearing with vcds. Where abouts are you? There may be a local person who can help you.

Thanks for heads up mate!

Does the superb not have afs2? Or is that controlled via another module?
