Airbag Error

Featured Replies

My father-in-law's Yeti has a warning message on the dashboard, 'Airbag Error'.  I have scanned with Torque OBD but there are no error codes stored in ECU.

Has anyone else experienced this?

Torque doesn't pick up all error codes - you'd need to scan it with VCDS.

As a VW in fancy clothes it is probably a fault on steering wheel bag. My Touran has had this a couple of times over the 10 years I have had it, that then clear themself. I have also had a "full house" worth of warning lights come on after battery disconnected. I was told this was due to low voltage warning in the sensors, that then clear next time ignition is turned on. What is the state of the battery?

I had this fault years ago on a VW Bora. It seemed to be triggered overnight on cold nights. Once reset it would be okay until the next cold night then re-appear. VW garage could not find the fault as the fault had cleared by the time they looked although the warning light would stay latched on until it was reset.

Perhaps the fact that it only happened in cold weather points to battery condition.
