mode problem Vrs tsi

Featured Replies

Picked my car up last week.

Today whilst out I have found that the mode occasionally enters (S) on the maxidot and IS in sport mode. Checked on Radio screen and this shows still in eco.If I enter sport then eco it reverts back to eco. Seems to happen after I have parked up and started the car again.Excuse for using eco is, we were doing the shopping..... I have it booked in for next Tuesday.

Anyone had this problem, if so was it sorted.

Is your's a DGS ? If you pull the gear selector backwards when in drive it puts the throttle and gearbox into Sport mode but not the rest of the bits.

Are you sure you didn't put it in S on the DSG? You can have the 'box in S and still be in Eco. Or any other combination of modes and the D/S combo for the gearbox.

I have the opposite.... Select sport and you get everything as it should until the ignition is cycled off then on.

Amundsen shows 'sport' selected, steering is in sport mode but gearbox and throttle are both in normal.

I can also select the different modes while driving at any speed (I thought it would only select new modes when stationary).

Why would Mode selection be speed dependent?

Thanks for the various bits of advice. I shall try and see if I am moving the selector too far back before going into drive mode

That's normal.  Would be a bit daft to have to stop to change modes....

Yep same on mine Sheldon, I thought it was ment to try and save you some fuel by doing this.  Its so easy to swap between D and S throttle'n'box mode I didn't even think this was annoying, thought it was better than SWMBO trying to get used to only half throttle pedal relating to full throttle.

Been out tonight and all is well. Must have been me pulling too far back when selecting drive.

Thanks for the suggestions. As they say. IT'S GOOD TO TALK
