Thanks for posting.

If thats it, then fine.

So again it looks like Mud Flaps will be a must have,

and lets hope Wind Deflectors are only required if you want and not a necessity.

  • talking about interpretations here is mine for the R5.

  • Did a very quick drawing over one of the pics.

  • Here's my version, spent a little more time though... made it grainy to hide my mistakes!  I could be completely wrong but it's what the creases could show.

New pics. :)

Ah yes so first impression were indeed correct. Regardless of the extra 9cm this car still looks peculiarly narrow and tall. Gawky I guess is the word.

Crispier, Sportier, More Youthful, Roomy, Still Tall & Narrow,

how else can it look on the same platform without being an exact image of an 2014 / 2015 Ibiza, Polo FL or Audi A1. ?

Ibiza tall and narrow looking?  NO

Polo FL tall and narrow looking?  NO

Audi A1 tall and narrow looking?  NO

Fabia tall and narrow looking?  YES

Platform anything to do with it? NO

Well that is choice. If you want the same wheelbase and less interior space there are those others available. 3 or 5 door hatch or estate.
So why build another clone of them?

It needs noted that the Tall Skinny Mk2 Fabia has been out selling all the Other Skoda Models in the UK up to this year.

40 % of UK Skoda each of the last years were Fabias.

They out sold by lots more than the Tall Skinny Roomster,

& the Tall not very wide and slightly odd looking Yetis.

So the Fabia Mk2 Replacement is maybe just right for the Market that Skoda needs in the UK / EU and ROW.

3cm lower roof.

Fits in peoples garages, and carries 5 people.  £9,500- £16,000.

& is not a Rapid or Rapid Spaceback, because they are turning out to not be very desirable, partly because Skoda /VWG thought they could charge too much for them.

I grant you that. Though I never used this argument. I never once said the Fabia should look like the others... I'm just saying it is by a country mile the ugliest of the cars on said platform - tall, gangly, too narrow with humongous headlights in scale as if meant for a Greyhound coach. But thankfully people can buy and like whatever they want. Choice is good. To my eyes you won't ever catch me in one of these.

Well beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and some of us like fugly cars and do not care about the looks, when inside you never see your own cars exterior unless looking in Shop Windows or you see another one passing.

With Octavias you see them any time you pass a Taxi Rank.

With Yetis they are often easily spotted in Disabled Parking bays without Blue Badges or on Caravan Sites.

You might think you spot a Roomster and then you are not sure, you just can not believe your eyes.

Horses for courses.

Skoda do have previous on humongous and inappropriate lights on car faces only a Mother or owner car truly love.

Anyone giving examples of Fugly often uses a Yeti as an example.

Only as a loaner at service time, then it will be the best thing since sliced bread. Freebie!

Yup! 100% agree with all that!!!    I LOVE ugly, runty cars - especially the Roomster. Non-mainstream cars are cool in my book hence driving a bug-eyed OAP Yeti. So perhaps I should celebrate the Fabia's gawkiness? Maybe. But no. There's quirky and then there's ugly. The beholder decides which it is in this case.

Interesting production line photo, particularly with a Fabia II also in shot.

Notice the race blue car has front parking sensors and front assist/adaptive cruise, whereas silver one behind just has the assist/adaptive cruise. Also the race blue must have a smaller output motor; it's got FSIII front brakes :S

Looks a nice small car, although the juries out on the dash and I just wonder how much of the fancy tech SUK will allow us access too, or withdraw 6 months in due to over demand :wonder:

It's all in the details.. I still think a Fabia2 Monte Carlo looks really good, even thought it's tall and narrow.

This Fabia3 has the potential to be better, being wider and lower is a better starting point, so when they Monte it up with big wheels, lower suspension and some more aggressive bumpers e.t.c. it could look pretty good.

Right now I'm still preferring the idea of a Rapid Spaceback for my next car.

I got a problem with the headlights. They look too big?

I agree. As I said above likening them to something meant for a huge device like a coach. And not a super mini.

The New Fabia Estate Outdoor might be interesting, then a Fabia Spaceback.

Then Australian Websites had a story from Indian Websites about the Saloon / Sedan.

re Lights.

Lets just hope they illuminate the road properly when dipped & when on full beam.

Like the Exterior Looks, you do not see what the Exterior looks like when inside the car, well you can not see the lights, only if they work when it is dark,

you want functionality.

Substance over Style is rather important to many,

rather than Angel Eyes or the likes.

It needs to feel good, drive well, work in all weathers, not drip water on you when you open the door or hatch.

Not spray mud along the side and rear of the car when driven in the wet or winter.  etc etc

They have had long enough to get it perfect,

it is not a Fabia MK3, just a 3rd Generation Mk2. So a 4th Generation Fabia,

It should be the best car Skoda Ever Built.

Faultless infact.

It could just be the photo. Looks like the photographer used a fairly wide angle lens, which will distort perspective and make things closer to the camera look much larger than they really are. Most product/car images we see in the press are taken with telephoto lenses, which compress perspective in a flattering way (also from a low angle, also)

Would consider buying one for my wife. Was looking at Rapid before but the front seems nicer than Rapid's. The dashboard is however a bit disappointing though especially the centre part with that ugly white plastic and too much space in between everything. Take away the navi and it would be even worse.

What's the deal with the LEDs in the headlights for DRLs. How come Fabia gets them while Rapid doesn't? The complete light cluster is much better looking with them IMHO.

I'm sure it won't just be white...

really liking that. I only got my yeti because I wanted to down size from the Octavia but hated the Mk2 fabia. This looks like a yeti replacement for me!

It will be nice to see if they bring out a Monte Carlo version. Will be nice to see in the flesh, still sitting a little high though, why do all Skoda's look like this haha.

can't believe with the state of the roads in pot hole city that you fancy a lower car :-)

Not gonna lie, I'm pretty disappointed that they've just slapped the same front end on their whole range so they pretty much look identical... It's REALLY boring. I get that they have to have a brand image, but they don't all need to look exactly alike, surely?!

aside from the Mk1 Yeti they'v been doignit for years. The Felicia got a facelift with the same look as the Mk1 Octavia - just more noticeable now they have more than 2 models

After seeing the state of the roads in Prague and Mlada Boleslav last year, i now understand why all the models are so high leaving the factory!
