boost leak test

Featured Replies

hi all

I think I may have a boost leak on my vrs, what would be the best way of going about testing for this?

I know there is a lot of talk on here about boost leaks but haven't been able to find a definitive way of testing for one

any help would be appreciated

thanks

visually check all boost pipes (excessive oily mess at one of the joins) and check for excessive play at the joins (they move slightly anyway but if the metal lugs look past it or if you can pretty much pull the join apart easily with your hands)

still unsure then you can do your own boost leak tester (google how to make boost leak tester) or take it to a tuner that does a boost leak test

excellent, thanks mate.

I'll have a look at them over the weekend, I'm having some hesitation when trying to accelerate but only sometimes, if they are fine at least I can rule that out

thanks
