I'm not much of a poster, more of a reader on these forums.

 

I was just curious about whether anyone else was discovering a kind of 'community' feel about Citigo drivers.

 

By that I mean saying hi to strangers on the road, simply because they have the same car as you.

 

I'm asking this because before I got my Citigo, I was insured on a 13 plate Hyundai i20 facelift. At the time, there were surprisingly few of them on the road in my area, but whenever I did see one, the drivers seemed disinterested in the fact they'd seen another one.

 

However, since getting my Citigo, there have been a handful of occasions (there really aren't that many Citigos in my area) where I've seen another Citigo, and on every occasion, the drivers have always flashed their lights, or gave a thumbs up.

 

On my way to work yesterday in Falkirk, I passed a White Green-tech with the black stripe (identical in look to mine). It was the first one I'd seen other than mine on the road, and the woman driving it gave me a big smile and a really enthusiastic wave, and I returned the favour.

 

It's nice to feel part of a small community, just wondered if it was because of the lack of them in my location. Does anyone else find the same thing? 

I think it is true of most "non-mainstream" cars.

 

I have noticed it a few times in the Citigo and the Yeti - because they are not as common as a Focus/Insignia etc, drivers tend to notice others.

Not yet.... all the other Citigo driven around me appear to be robots......

Haven't seen another Citigo in my area at all.

I have only seen two Citigos on the road, both red. No reaction to me, but a VW Up did nod his head.

Nobody ever acknowledges anybody in our city, too scared of each other.

There's loads of citigo's in Leicester will have to try and see if I get acknowledged .

I remember when I had my Octavia and gave a thumbs up to a vrs driver and all I got in return was the finger. Charming.

I've yet to see Stormchaser prowling the streets of B'mouth, guess it's the speed and agility of the sport model? Too fast to spot

I'm a night shift worker the poor car never sees daylight :(

I'm over Tuckton/Christchurch area most of the time and then at Lymington through the night but I'll keep a look out for you

I'm found typically on the border of Poole/B'mouth heading to WInton, if I'm feeling adventurous sometimes Wimbourne 

I have a quite non standard citigo so I find that I quite often get a lot of looks from Up and Mii drivers, although Mii's seem to be a lot rarer. I live in Lincoln but I've only had a few waves. If you're ever nearby, look out for this!
