that is a good price so i would go for it.

 

I think Pro Tyres in Fareham do wheel refurb and colur changes too.

 

I quite like satin black on black VRS

 

I also saw a Black LCR with orange wheels and that actually looked really smart

 

White also works too i think 

This might be just me and how I see things but white Spiders - even the 17" version - look way too small.  It could be the design of the wheel playing tricks but they always seem to shrink when white.  When fitted to a Fabia, they look okay as the car is smaller and the tyre profile is less, but on an Octavia they look a bit lost.  Silver, black, anthracite and even green or orange works but I'm not keen on white. 

 

edit : I actually love white wheels and have had four cars in the past with that colour on the rims, I'm just commenting on the Spider rims in particular.

I've done a bit of searching and found these two photos to help me explain. I might be on my own on this one, see what you think.

 

 

 

Both photos are nicked from the Briskoda archive so apologies to whoever owns them.

 

The white somehow transform the 17" rim into what looks like a 16" wheel.  I've noticed in the past that to make a white wheel look any good on the black Octavia it needs to be at least 18".  I did spend quite a while thinking about this over the years when I owned my Octavia, pretty geeky eh?

Can see what your saying about the white making them look smaller dude! But must admit the white looks very good!! I think I'm torn between satin black or grey?

Just gutted I can't get them done at work but the corrosion has set in to far for the painter to do them for me! I've had a few quotes now and 65 seems pretty good but feel I could find them cheaper!? I know it's tight but moving house and holiday in 1 week I'm trying to make the wife understand it's a good investment! ;-)

Graphite grey

 

This. Darker than normal anthracite, yet light enough to not "out black" the tyres.

I find that black wheels only look good with new / well looked after tyres. If the tyre fades, then the wheel looks darker... and it looks a bit pants :(

Yup - just rubbed down, primed, painted and lacquered. Mine was a bit of a rush / rat job, but if you spent proper time on it, it would come out very well.

 

All done with rattle cans from Halfords

You can do them yourself and it's pretty easy.

Here's a few of my rattle can jobs

but if you want a longer lasting job then your better off paying to get them powder coated,there's a lot of places around that will do a great job for between £100-£200

what side skirts r they in top pic?

The side skirts I believe we're made by autostyl or something like that,could be wrong though lol,think there available on super skoda too.

Hey dude I've not tired those I think I'll give them a shout cheers! I'm thinking along the anthracite look! I got the quote from company called alloy wheel specialist think they are on the outskirts of Southampton!?

Need to get them done they are letting the car down and want to spend the money before the wife gets hold of it!
