Tried searching for this topic, but nothing seems to be held in archive.

 

My drivers window on my mk1 VRS has developed a squeal that it getting worse with time.

I have ordered some silicone grease to use on the rubber channels, but wanted to ask if anyone has had this, and if this is the solution to it?

 

Otherwise am expecting an issue with the regulator mechanism itself.

Does it sound like the window rubbers? It's likely this is what it is.

Mine does the same, especially when the weather has been dry for a few days. I'm pretty sure that the silicone spray will do the trick. I've not tried that yet as I'm sure that I have some but can't find it, so I'm refusing to buy more as I know it'll turn up as soon as i do.
