I have a fabia vrs and i installed valeos smf 12,000 miles ago. I remember when it 1st got installed there was a slight chattering noise at torque peak. Now i have the car mapped and the clutch is slipping in 5th and 6th gear. The clutch is only a year old. Has anyone else had a problem with valeos smf. Think i will have to replace it. Anyone recommend a new decent clutch please??

If i had 500 quid right now i would be asking you to post that. I fitted the valeo clutch system. Surely my car couldnt have ate the clutch already??

The Valeo isn't rated as high as the standard Sachs/LUK setup, looks like you've gone over the max torque rating of the clutch kit.

I think the valeo smf kit can only take a valeo clutch kit too.

So unless you want another new flywheel then you'll need to replace with valeo

310lb/ft is the max torque rating on the Fabia Valeo SMF

I have the Valeo kit and it does chatter/vibrate like mad during peak torque range usually 2000-2250rpm ish. And it chatters when I lift off around 1500rpm. Horrible kit if you ask me but I just don't have the money to replace with a Sachs/LUK clutch and dmf

Ive noticed that. My clutch shudders real bad. Tractor sounding like. Good bite and that with the clutch. But i dont like it. I tried to find out the max the clutch could handle. But couldnt find it. If that helix clutch system is still free in 2 weeks i think ill take it off his hands. This is the full clutch i had fitted.

Yeah that's the one with 310lb/ft capability!

If its only rated to 310 ft/lb it's not worth uprating as the sachs dmf setup will handle 300 ft/lb and there's no chatter etc or am I wrong with the sachs figures?

I have my eyes on niceyellows helix kit for 500. If the next 2 weeks in work goes fine ill take it off his hands in 2 weeks. The valeo is slipping in 5th and 6th when theres weight in the car. If the clutch isnt damaged much i could maybe make some money back off it. Cheers for the help guys. Yous are excellent.
