my seat ibiza

Featured Replies

so i sold my vovlo c30 a while ago as the other half wasnt keen on driving it and i only used it at weekends. i needed something better for her as her little punto is on its last legs really.

i had been looking at polo tdi 130's but ones in my range were either dogs or had ridiculous mileages.

was browsing ebay last weekend and came across this ibiza fr 130 tdi. it happened to be 30 seconds away from a job i had on saturday so i took my mate with me and set off on the 250 mile trip to cornwall.

its a wicked little car and has a great spec....it has the luxury pack which gives it mfsw, rain sense wipers, auto dim mirror and aux in for the stereo aswell as the fr electric folding mirrors. the best option though is the very rare factory fit xenon lights...

it was listed at £3995 originally and before travelling we had agreed a price of £3550 but upon viewing the car it clearly wasnt as described so we settled on £3300 which gives me the couple of hundred i need to sort its niggles which are mainly the **** poor brakes.

i think i did well for a 74000 mile pd130 fr with full history with 12 months tax and test!

Vag fold :o

Vag fold :o

I was just thinking that!!!

Got the rear brakes and service done yesterday and also had the rear arch liners out to give the arches a good clean / check. You could tell it had spent a lot of its life in the middle of cornwall, never seen mud build up like it.

Also got the rear parking sensors fitted. Just need to refit the bumper tomorrow and get the front brakes done then its all ready for the other half to start using.

All done now. Finished some little bits and fitted the powerflex dogbone mount bush.

The new red diesel version is great, no extra noise or vibration at all but much better gear change and far less engine movement.

Also got the exhaust sitting properly. The clamps holding the system together had rotted away meaning the rear section could twist. New clamps sorted it though

Nice - I used to have one about 7 years ago. Great car and got me into skoda's :)

Thanks for the comments guys.

First proper drive out today since buying it. Went from stafford to llangollen which is approx 125 miles round trip and according to the computer its achieved 74mpg. I reckon thats realistically mid 60's mpg which is astounding. Aircon was on and it was cross country and i wasnt trying.

I think the pd130 is the perfect blend between power and economy.
