Goodwood Festival of Speed

Featured Replies

I go every year due to my uncle getting free tickets from work (McLaren) its a brilliant day out. The supercar runs up the hill are my highlight and the rally stage is always good for photos.

Food is fairly expensive like most motorsport/festivals.

They've released a code for free tickets for the Thursday :)

We went on the Sunday last year. A scorchingly hot day, so getting grandstand tickets was a good move for the shade as well as the view. You can move around between the grandstands - we thought The Corner grandstand (about two-thirds the way up the hill) was the best spot.

We stayed near Gatwick on the Saturday night and after Petworth picked up signs directing us into the site from the north, arriving at about 8.30 with surprisingly little delay.

The day flew by and there was more to see than you could easily do in one day - we never got to the rally stage.

I'd go again, but not every year, and would probably plan to go for two days next time

I would echo this......it's very hard to see everything in one day. The only way you would do it is if you were inside the venue as it opens at 7am and stay until you are chucked out!

Going Thursday, Friday and Saturday this year. Staying at my mates in Haslemere and we will be there early both Friday and Saturday. Not fussed about Thursday as it was a freebie.

Not booked grandstand this year as the hillclimb can get annoying if folk start having "offs" with the delays.

Will do some celeb stalking at the Black Rock and in the pits.

Stood and watched Randy Mamola and Kenny Roberts last year. Randy was all smiles and friendly with the fans Kenny lived up to his arrogant self.

Plus a special Lady will be visiting on Saturday...
