What is this connector? Please help to identify

Featured Replies

Hi All,

I just had a full service done (oil/filters replaced, etc...) in a service and I just found a connector disconnected. I re-connected it, but I'm not sure if it was like that before, so I'm asking you to identify it for me.

Can you please look at the attachment and let me know if you recognize that connector and if there's any sense in leaving it disconnected? (or it was just a mistake on the service's part)

Thank you!

That's the cam shaft sensor. It most defiantly should be connected.

Thank you for your reply!

Is it expected that the car still worked with it disconnected? Could it have caused any damage to the engine?

The car would use data from the crank sensor in order to run. Ideally it needs data from from the cam & crank sensor. You might find it runs better now unless the cam sensor is duff

Yes, I think it runs better. After the service, I thought they did some mistake as there was a "hole" in acceleration at low rpm that didn't exist before. Now that I connected this cable, it seems to be gone.

Thanks for your reply!
