Mikalor hose clamps

Featured Replies

Morning folks

Thinking of getting Mikalor boost pipe clamps as an upgrade to current crappy plastic ones.

Using standard boost pipes, does anyone know what diameters of clamp is needed.

Ta much

I would just recommend you get rid of the standard boost pipes lol

Had seen folk using self tappers, didnt fancy going that route tbh.

For the price of the Mikalor clamps i'd probaly just go with them.

Any idea of outer diameters?

I can't see how a mikalor will secure a standard pipe setup in all honesty. They're designed to clamp a silicone hose over a metal pipe whereas the standard stuff pushes together and basically a C clip holds it in place against the lugs. I've used cable ties to pull all my joins together tight so they don't flex and move, I can put some pics up if you want but it's either this or self tappers I'm afraid. Removing the standard C clips and using mikalor clamps is going to make things worse as take the egr pipe for example, it goes into the egr which is metal so putting one around the metal won't clamp down and it goes into a hard plastic pipe the other end so won't clamp down there. Either search for the diy top boost pipe on here and go for silicone hoses and metal pipes and use mikalor clamps or use cable ties and/or self tappers

Cheers for the replys folks, think i'll just bin the clamp idea and use silicone sealant on the pipes.

Scrap all ideas and hunt out some self tappers as has been suggested

Tried and tested

Remove pipes to do it though so you make sure no swarf is present
