Parking bays

Featured Replies

First trip to the local supermarket in my shiny new car today, parked in a bay miles away. On my long hike to the store it dawned on me there are dedicated spaces for the disabled, parent and child why not one for cars up to 3yrs old?

They already provide this........they are the bays at the farthest point from the supermarket door!

Perhaps there should also be a special motorway lane for cars under 3 years old too.........one that is swept every hour to avoid stone chips on the bonnet and windscreen.....perhaps it could be covered too so as not to get watermarks on the paintwork when it rains.   :giggle:

I've found it doesn't matter how far away I park from the entrance, whenever I return there is always someone parked next to me.

Lucky you, I always get the car with 400 brats that swing the doors open as hard as they can into the car beside them. You know the car, the one with rub lines down the sides and that has only ever seen a wash when it rains and that has a big bump on the rear end even with the reversing sensors.

Yes, me too. Last time it was a member of the travelling community in a transit... a considerate and trustworthy lot they are.

I did start this thread tongue in cheek.... That said I have always tried not to park next to ... 4x4's ( you know the ones I mean), cars with child seats or 2 door cars ( doors are bigger). That said our local supermarket has just extended the car park and the bays now have a kinda no mans land between them..

As I've said before the only way to avoid the parking bay problems is to leave the car at home and do online shopping!!

If you need a bigger bay options include having a leg amputated and getting a Blue Badge or less drastic buying and fitting a child seat in the back - if challenged just say oops forgot the kid

OR buy a £300 hack about and be care free!?

This takes all kinds of abuse, first time I've washed it in about 10 months.

Hmm. Above all "its a POS" but thats the point isn't it.

Simple tip from a postie, go shopping at 3am before work, no problems with parking bays then.

I am so careful where I park my car to negate the w*nkers parking next to me that don't give a ****e and love damaging other peoples pride and joys, I must remember to take down that sign on the back of my car,........

"Please park as close to my car as possible and ensure that when you open your car door to dent the new car next to you as many times as possible, please also make sure you leave a dent in the rear door so it matches the dent you left in the front door, yours the guy that works hard for a living and can afford a nice car!"

But now they offer the free newspaper and drink it's full of bargain hunting wrinklies who'll happily dent your car without realising. Best one I had recently was when I'd just parked up, car pulls in to opposite space and drives straight it into mine. Little old lady gets out after saying sorry, that it probably hasn't done any damage as it normally doesn't!!!!
